Indian Army through Recruitment Rallies fills the vacancies like – Soldier General Duty/Tradesmen, Soldier Technical/Nursing Assistant / Sepoy / Pharma and Clerk / Store Keeper Technical, etc. There are certain standards and test processes for recruitment to these posts, which includes, Physical Standard Test (PST), Physical Fitness Test (PFT) or Physical Endurance Test (PET) and Medical Test (MT).
Physical Standard Test (PST)
As per the various recruitment notifications being issued by the Indian Army, Rally is being organised for different posts and all of them have certain Physical Standard Test (PST). To get job in Army, Physical Standard Test is the most important stage and one need to qualify this test.
Physical Fitness Test (PFT) or Physical Endurance Test (PET)
During the screening in Indian Army recruitment appearing in Physical Fitness Test (PFT) or Physical Endurance Test (PET) is important. In this test physical endurance and courage of the candidates is being examined, which are crucial for Army Jobs.
Army conducts followings to check Physical Fitness Test -
- 1.6 Kilometer Run
- Pull Ups/ Chin Ups
- Zigzag balance
- 9 Feet high jump
Medical Test (MT) Criteria
For Army Job, a candidates needs to be medically fit and strong physique. During Army selection process certain medical criteria have been decided according to which candidates must be having good physique and decent mental health. Also, the candidate should be able to expand his chest at least 5 centimeter in addition to developed chest.
Good hearing capacity is required along with excellent vision in any candidate. He should be able to read according to 6/6 standard. The colour vision should be CP – III and he should be able to recognise White, Red and Green signals on Martin Lantern placed at a distance of 1.5 meter.
