The post of Deputy Tehsildar is an administrative post and is common at Tehsil or Taluka level in the Revenue Departments of the State Governments within the country. Eligibility Conditions for Deputy Tehsildar
To become a Deputy Tehsildar a candidate needs to have qualified bachelor’s degree in any subject or strem from a recognized university or educational institution. The candidate must have adequate knowledge of the official regional language of the state/region.
Age Limit for Deputy Tehsildar
To become a Deputy Tehsildar a candidate’s age must fall into the range of 21 years to 42 years in the year of examination. However, the upper age limit could be 36 years in some states. The reserved category (SC / ST / OBC / PWD/ ExSM) candidates get relaxation in upper age limit according to the rules laid down by the Government.
Selection Process for Deputy Tehsildar
The selection of candidates for Deputy Tehsildar posts is done on the basis of their performance in the Academic Records, Preliminary Written Exam (Objective Type and Multiple Choice), Main Written Exam (Conventional Type) and Personal Interview (Personality Test). In the Preliminary Written Exam questions are asked from the subjects like – General Studies, Mental Ability, Social and Cultural History of the State, Planning and Economy. While, in the Main Written Exam questions are asked from the subjects like – General Studies, Mental Ability, History of the State, Social and Cultural Development, Indian Constitution, Indian Economy, etc.
Salary Structure of Deputy Tehsildar
The salary on Deputy Tehsildar post may differ from state to state as per the implemented pay structure. In general, the Basic Pay for the post of Deputy Tehsildar is given as per the Pay Band Rs. 28,940 - 78,910/-. Apart from this, various allowances (DA, HRA, etc.) as applicable in the state. The salary could be as per the equivalent Pay Matrix Level of Seventh Pay Commission in whichever state it has been implemented.
