Located in the Vicinity of ‘Sanjay Van’
As you enter the IIFT Campus, you will be welcomed by a rich green campus both inside and outside the campus- a rare sight in a city like Delhi. The most evident part of the campus life at IIFT is the fact that is tucked away from the hustle and Bustle city life in the corner of our city. You will be amazed to see the campus adjoined to the famous ‘Sanjay Van’- a large forest area marked in South Delhi, the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (IIT D) and the Jawahar Lal Nehru University (JNU). You may have heard of the JNU campus; IIFT campus is on the similar lines. If you are going to utilise the hostel accommodation facility, you are going to be blessed with a breathtaking view of the ‘Sanjay Van’ from your room. Campus life at IIFT provides a calm and serene environment needed to transform into future leaders and managers.
Academia with a Historical Qutub Minar View
IIFT is known for the most robust selection procedure; each year over 60,000 students apply for the B-school, of which less than 200 make the cut. The course curriculum at IIFT falls in the same line; the curriculum is timely reviewed by a committee comprising top academicians, industry and distinguished alumni to align it with the industry’s requirement. IIFT is a top pick when it comes to International business; thanks to the numerous academic programmes including MBA in International Business, Executive programme, MA Economics, Certificate and Doctoral programme among others.
In all on the academic front, IIFT curriculum is hell-bent on preparing you for the industry outside the campus.
An Epitome for Trade
Another factor that makes IIFT unique is its expertise in the International trade domain that quickly witnessed working professionals and graduates take up the International business course. Post liberalization, it was IIFT that started offering a professional course related to International trade, as the foreign trade grew. All these achievements were possible with the help of internal and external faculty members. Each year IIFT Delhi has a well-structured faculty and student exchange that brings a breath of fresh air into the campus. IIFT has some of the best faculty exchange programmes with some leading institutes including University of Bocconi, Italy, Strasbourg Graduate School of Management – France, Nyenrode – Holland and Saarland – Germany, Singapore Management University among others.
Is IIFT Delhi = IIFT Kolkata?
Is IIFT Delhi better than IIFT Kolkata? Do students get better placements at IIFT Delhi? Is IIFT Kolkata a downgrade from IIFT Delhi? You may have been struck with such similar questions, which is normal for an MBA student who wants the best. According to an alumnus, there is no major difference between both the IIFT campuses. Yes, IIFT Delhi has a decent infrastructure considering it is over 50 years old, while IIFT Kolkata on the end is a newer campus with better infrastructure. In terms of placements, IIFT placements take place in Delhi only and Kolkata students have to visit the Delhi campus in order to participate. This may irk many of you since it is absurd to travel from Kolkata to Delhi for the placement procedures. As per an alumnus, a major reason behind this practice was that some companies did not allow IIFT Kolkata to participate due to the 10-year-old campus rule.
Nevertheless, life at IIFT is no different in both the campus as both have great faculty, campuses and are situated in perfect locations. It would be unfair to compare both the campuses based on rumours you have been hearing. But one this is for sure- life at IIFT will be worth every single penny and every single minute you spend at either of the campuses.
