Indian Railways has Released FAQ for RRB Technician Vacancy 2024

Indian Railways has released a list of frequently asked questions for RRB Technician Vacancy 2024. The list of questions includes the opening, closing and modification dates of the application. It also includes the questions asked about the eligibility criteria for each category and the final year student's eligibility.

Indian Railways: The Railways Recruitment Board (RRB) has released a list of frequently asked questions (FAQs), which includes the most general information for the students, like eligibility criteria for the final year students, procedure to create an account, etc. 

The major questions that are answered in the FAQs are that if the “candidate holds qualifications in both 10+2 with Physics and Math and an ITI in the prescribed trade(s)”, “already created an account for CEN 01/2024, do candidates need to create another account for CEN 02/2024, “what is the next procedure after creating an account?, “can candidate submit two applications separately for Technician Gr III posts”, etc. Read below below some of the major questions  

What is the date of opening, closing and modification of RRB Technician Application?

The opening date for applications is March 9, 2024. The closing date for submission of applications, including payment, is April 8, 2024, modification window will open only after closing date for submission of application and will be active from April 9-18, 2024 If candidates wish to modify, change or correct any details except those filled out in the ‘Create an Account’ form (including email id and mobile number) and selected RRB, they may do so by paying a modification fee of Rs.250/- (non-refundable) for each occasion. (Please Note: Details filled in ‘Create an Account’ form and ‘Chosen RRB’ cannot be modified.)

My final results are expected after April 8, 2024. Can I apply for RRB Technician?

No. Candidates waiting for the final results of their prescribed educational/technical qualifications are not eligible to apply. Candidates should possess the prescribed educational / technical qualifications on or before the closing date for the submission of their applications for this CEN.

I have created an account for CEN 01/2024. Should I create another account for CEN 02/2024?

No, candidates who have already created an account during the ALP (CEN 01/2024) form fill up/submission are not required to create an account again; they should login using the same username and password to apply for CEN 02/2024.

What are the requirements and procedures to  ‘Create an Account’ for an RRB Technician Application?

To create an account for the RRB Technician application, candidates should have their own mobile number and a valid & active personal email ID. The candidates can create the account under ‘Apply Button’, select ‘Create an Account', and enter all the details asked for, including candidate’s mobile number and email ID. The OTP will be sent to the candidate's mobile number and email. The same has to be entered and submitted

Can I apply to different RRBs for different pay levels?

Yes. Candidates may apply for Level-5 post at any one RRB of their choice if they are eligible to apply. Similarly, candidates can submit a separate application for Level-2 posts to the same or different RRB of their choice if they are eligible to apply for Level-2 posts. However, only one application should be submitted by a candidate for each pay level, indicating the order of preference for any or all of the notified posts in that pay level for which the candidate is eligible and interested in applying.

And the candidate should not apply to more than one RRB for the same pay level, which will result in the rejection of all applications for that pay level and will lead to debarment from all future examinations of the RRB and RRC.

Can I change my ‘Chosen RRB’ in the technician application?

No, candidates cannot change the ‘chosen RRB’ after submission of application

Why is Aadhaar verification required for RRB technicians, and what should I do if I don’t have Aadhaar?

Aadhaar validation is required for smooth entry at the examination centre. RRBs will not share Aadhaar details with any third party or use them for any purpose other than the objectives of this CEN. Candidates can give details of any of the following documents, if they do not have Aadhaar:

  1. Driving Licence
  2. Passport
  3. PAN
  4. Voter ID
  5. Employer ID (Govt.)
  6. School, college, or university (if still studying)

The selected document in online application should be produced during the CBT, DV, ME, etc.

What should I do if I forget my password to sign into my account of RRB Technician Application?

Candidates can click on the 'Forgot Password' option on the login page. Enter either your registered email or mobile number along with your date of birth. The revised password will be sent to the candidate's registered email address. Candidates must then log in using the revised password sent to their registered email. After logging in, candidates can then create a new password by accessing the 'Change Password' option available on the upper right-hand side of the online application page
