What is the Swanath Scholarship?

The scheme is implemented by AICTE to provide encouragement and support to orphans, wards of parents who died due to COVID-19, and wards of Armed Forces and Central Paramilitary Forces martyred in action (Shaheed) to pursue education. This initiative aims to give every such child the opportunity to study further and prepare for a successful future through education in AICTE-approved institutions and courses. The program awards 2,000 scholarships annually to meritorious students pursuing technical education. Each recipient receives ₹50,000 per year to support their studies.

Swanath Scholarship 2024 Eligibility Criteria 

To avail themselves of the Swanath Scholarship offered by AICTE, students need to fulfil the following eligibility criteria, including their financial status, educational background, and other factors. Some of these criteria are listed below:

• The candidate should be from any one of the following categories:

(i) Orphan

(ii) Either or both parents died due to Covid 19

(iii) Wards of Armed Forces and Central Paramilitary Forces martyred in action (Shaheed)

• Family income from all sources should not be more than Rs. 8 lakh per annum during the current financial year.
• The candidate should be currently studying in the AICTE-approved institutions and courses at Degree/Diploma level in regular mode (in 1st /2nd/3rd/4th year).
• A valid cast and income certificate.
• The student must have an Aadhar card

How to Apply for the Swanath Scholarship 2024?

The students interested in Swanath Scholarship 2024 programs can apply on the official website of NSP Scholarship- scholarship.up.gov.in.Registration for the degree and diploma scholarship programs for the academic year 2024-25 began on July 01, 2024. Candidates need to follow the following steps to fill out the online application form.

Step 1: Visit the official website of NSP-: scholarships.gov.in

Step 2: Click on the ‘Students‘ option available there.

Step 3: If you are a new user, click on the ‘OTR (One Time Registration)’. 

Step 4: Now, back to the home page and login with the necessary details such as OTR ID and password to complete the NSP Scholarship Registration 2024-25.

Step 5: After login please fill in the required details and upload the scanned document in the required format.

Step 6: Verify the entered details and submit the details for National Scholarship Portal 2024-25.

What Documents are Required for the Swanath Scholarship 2024 Application?

To apply for the Swanath Scholarship, the student must have the following documents:

• Death Certificates of both Father & Mother (if available)/A certificate issued by Tehsildar/SDM.
• Death Certificate of Father/Mother or both explicitly mentioning that the death was due to COVID-19. 
• Shaheed Certificate issued by the Armed Forces/ Central Paramilitary Forces
• Last Qualifying Exam Mark Sheet
• Valid Cast Certificate
• Valid Income Certificate
• Bank Passbook (Bank account must be linked to the Aadhar number)

Swanath Scholarship 2024-25 Status

All students who applied for the Swanath Scholarship 2024-25 can check the status of their application by logging in with their credentials on the official NSP Scholarship portal. This feature helps them track the progress of their application. The students need to follow the below-mentioned steps to check the status of their application:

Step 1: Visit the official website of the NSP Scholarship- scholarship.up.gov.in

Step 2: Select the ‘Status’ and click on the ‘Application Status’ option available there

Step 3: A new page will open, fill in all the required details and click on ‘Search’. 

Step 4: The application status will appear on the screen

Swanath Scholarship Selection Criteria

The selection of candidates will be carried out solely based on merit of qualifying examination to pursue the Degree course from any of the AICTE-approved institutions i.e. based on the percentage of marks obtained in the 10+2/ equivalent examination.
