What is the Common Written Examination and the procedure to get through the 19 banks?
The Common Written Examination or CWE is first conducted by The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) for the initial short listing of personnel in Clerical Cadre, PO/MT, and Specialist Officer in the 19 participating banks.
On the basis of the CWE score cards, banks call candidates for Group Discussion/Personal Interview (GD/PI). Following that, on the basis of the IBPS CWE score and the GD/PI score, the individual banks take out the final merit list of the candidates, who then get appointed in the banks.
