 1. Vajra Prahar: India- US joint Special Forces Exercise

The 15th edition of India- US joint Special Forces Exercise Vajra Prahar is scheduled to be conducted from 2nd to 22nd November 2024 at Orchard Combat Training Centre in Idaho, USA.

  • The 14th edition of the Vajra Prahar exercise was conducted at Umroi, Meghalaya in December 2023.
  • Aim-To promote military cooperation between both the countries through enhancement of interoperability, jointness and mutual exchange of special operations tactics.

2. Namo Drone Didi: Govt approved the Central Sector Scheme Project

The Government has approved the Central Sector Scheme ‘Namo Drone Didi’ for providing Drones to the Women Self Help Groups (SHGs) under DAY-NRLM.

  • The project will run with an outlay of Rs. 1261 Crores.
  • The scheme "Namo Drone Didi" aims to provide drones to 14500 selected Women SHGs during the period from 2024-25 to 2025-2026 for providing rental services to farmers for agriculture purpose
    Under the scheme, not only the drones but, drones as a package will be supplied.

3. International 52nd Annual Conference of RSSDI

The prestigious International 52nd Annual Conference of the Research Society for the Study of Diabetes in India (RSSDI), one of the largest global societies of diabetes physicians in the world is set to be held from November 14 to 17 at Yashobhoomi, Dwarka, New Delhi. Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh, who is also a nationally known Diabetologist , will inaugurate and also be the chief guest at the upcoming International 52nd Annual Conference.

  • The RSSDI was last held in Delhi in 2013 when incidentally Dr Jitendra Singh was himself the Scientific Chairman of the Conference.
  • The 52nd Annual Conference of RSSDI will feature an impressive lineup of 27 internationally renowned faculty speakers in various sessions.
  • The RSSDI is one of the largest global societies of diabetes physicians with over 12,000 members.

4. Prequel Events for Mysuru Sangeetha Sugandha Festival 2024

The Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and the Sangeet Natak Akademi is set to celebrate the Mysuru Sangeetha Sugandha Festival 2024 from 8th to 10th November 2024 in Mysuru.

  • The festival will showcase Karnataka's vibrant traditions, especially its rich musical and cultural heritage.
  • A special highlight of the festival is its tribute to the Dasa Tradition, a significant influence in the evolution of Carnatic music.

5. India-Saudi Strategic Partnership Council (SPC)


Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal participated in the Plenary Session of the 8th Edition of Future Investment Initiative (FII), with representatives from global Governments and the industry during his visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

  • Piyush Goyal also co-chaired the 2nd Ministerial Meeting of the Economy and Investment Committee under the India-Saudi Strategic Partnership Council (SPC) in Riyadh.
  • He launched the Lulu Wali Diwali Festival at the Lulu Hypermarket by lighting a Big Diya made with LED, furthering India-Saudi cultural and economic ties.
  • 10,000+ Indian products were unveiled including Ghee from Uttarakhand, Ladakh Apple, Indian Cavendish banana, Dragon Fruit from Maharashtra, new range of Millets based breakfast cereals, and Qaadu Organic beauty products.
