Bollywood actor Navin Nischol died a sudden death on 19 March 2011 on his way to Pune. Nischol had made his debut along with Rekha in Sawan Bhadon in 1970. He got instant sgtardom with the boisterous song of Sawan Bhadon, Kaan mein jhumka sung by Mohammad Rafi.
A gold medalist from the Film and Television Institute of India, Nischol starred in several films like Victoria No 203, Dhund, Chhalia, Parwana and Buddha Mil Gaya. He later was seen as character actor in Major Saab and The Burning Train.
Nishchol mostly enacted light romantic roles and worked some of the top heroines of that era including Saira Banu in Victoria No. 203, Rekha in Sawan Bhadon and Zeenat Aman in Dhund. He also acted alongside Shabana Azmi in films like Ek Baar Kaho and Log Kya Kehenge.
He was last seen in films like Khosla ka Ghosla (2006) and Break ke Baad (2010).
He was seen as a character actor in several television serials in the early 1990s. Some of these popular serials included Dekh Bhai Dekh alongside Farida Jalal and Shekhar Suman. Dekh Bhai Dekh was produced by Jaya Bachchan.
