CAG on 22 April 2011 passed strictures against Maharashtra government for giving injudicious aid of 118.50 crore Rupees to the Nanded District Central Cooperative bank. Maharashtra government had approved the assistance to the bank in August 2009. According to the CAG report, the bank did not follow the RBI’s directives regarding acceptance and payment of deposits and also could not repay Maharashtra State Cooperative Bank.
