Sports Current Affairs 2011. International Cricket Council committee recommended the use of the controversial Decision Review System (DRS) in all international matches

The cricket committee of the International Cricket Council recommended on 11 May 2011, the use of the controversial Decision Review System (DRS) in all international matches. It suggested that the Decision Review System (DRS) be used in all Test matches, one-day internationals and Twenty20s. The committee recognised the need to take into account existing (television) contracts.

Also the committee suggested that teams should be restricted to one unsuccessful challenge per innings in one-day and Twenty20 games, rather than the current two to stop tactical use of reviews. The system, whereby players can challenge on-field decisions, was used in all matches throughout the recent World Cup 2011.
