Union HRD Minister, Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’, released “India Rankings 2020” (NIRF) of Institutions of Higher Education in various categories on June 11, 2020. The Indian Institute of Technology Madras topped the overall list of educational institutions as well as the list of top Engineering institutes.

Union HRD Minister, Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’, released “India Rankings 2020” (NIRF) of Institutions of Higher Education in various categories on June 11, 2020. Among colleges, Miranda Houses topped the list followed by Lady Shri Ram College for Women and the Hindu College.
The first unmanned trial flight of ISRO’s ambitious Gaganyaan mission has been postponed to 2021. This could impact the overall timeline of the Gaganyaan mission, which aims to send humans to space by 2022.
The Gaganyaan mission was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his Independence Day address in August 2018. The mission aims to take Indian astronauts to space on board 'Gaganyaan' by 2022. It will be the first human mission indigenously developed by ISRO.

The Sri Lankan Parliamentary elections have been scheduled for August 5, 2020. The date of the elections has been postponed twice previously due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The parliamentary elections were initially supposed to be held on April 25 but it had to be postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak.
India lifted the ban imposed on the export of Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) API as well as formulations on June 10, 2020. The Indian government had banned the export of the drug and its formulations in April after India approved its use for possible prevention against the COVID-19 virus.
Green Mizoram Day was observed throughout the state on June 11, 2020 with distribution and planting trees and taking the pledge to work for the improvement of environment and maintaining ecological balance. The state has been observing the day for the last 20 years since 1999.

Sri Lankan Government has decided to reopen all public schools under four stages starting from the end of June, as the country gradually attempts to return to normalcy with no community COVID infections reported for over a month.
