1. (a) Uttar Pradesh

Kushinagar International Airport will be the third international airport in Uttar Pradesh after Lucknow and Varanasi. The airport will be inaugurated by PM Narendra Modi on October 20, 2021. Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa will also attend the event. 

2. (b)Norway

The new centre-left Cabinet of Norway formally took over power on October 14, 2021, after the newly-elected Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Stoere presented a centre-left minority government.

3. (a) Kochi

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan declared Kochi as a 'dementia-friendly city' while inaugurating a dementia-friendly district programme called Udbodh on October 16, 2021.

4. (b) Rahul Dravid

Former Indian skipper Rahul Dravid is set to take over as head coach of the Indian national men's cricket team after the T20 World Cup, as per reports. The development reportedly took place on the sidelines of IPL 2021 final on October 15, 2021. 

5. (d) China 

China on October 16, 2021 launched Shenzhou-13 spacecraft carrying three astronauts - two men and one woman - on a historic 6-month mission to build a space station. The spacecraft will dock with the Tianhe module, the core module of a future space station where they will live and work for the next six months.

India was ranked at 101st position out of a total of 116 countries in the 2021 Global Hunger Index (GHI), launched on October 14, 2021. The 2021 GHI report stated that India with a score of 27.5 is facing a level of hunger that is serious.

7. (b) Somalia

As per the 2021 Global Hunger Index report, Somalia has the highest level of hunger. Somalia with a score of 50.8 points is facing extremely alarming levels of hunger.

8. (a) Chennai Super Kings

The MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings won the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League after defeating Eoin Morgan-led Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 27 runs in IPL 2021 final on October 15, 2021. This is CSK's 4th IPL title.
