1. (c) Andhra Pradesh 

Former Andhra Pradesh Governor Kumudben Joshi passed away after a long illness at her village in Navsari district of Gujarat on March 14, 2022. Kumudben Joshi had served as the Governor of Andhra Pradesh from November 26, 1985 to February 7, 1990. She was the second female Governor of the state after Sharda Mukherjee. She had also served as the Deputy Minister of Information and Broadcasting from October 1980 – January 1982 and Deputy Minister of Health and Family Welfare from January 1982 – December 1984.

India has jumped to the fourth place in the ICC World Test Championship Points Table 2021-23 after a series win against Sri Lanka. India beat Sri Lanka by 238 runs in its second pink ball test match at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru, gaining 12 crucial World Test Championship points.

3. (a) Ravindra Jadeja

India's Ravindra Jadeja is currently ranked at the top of the ICC Test All-Rounder Rankings 2022 with 406 points after his epic performance in India vs Sri Lanka Test Series. Jadeja scored 175 not out and took 9 wickets in India's first test against Sri Lanka at Mohali. Jason Holder is ranked second with 382 points, followed by R Ashwin with 347 points. 

4. (a) Karnataka HC

The Karnataka High Court on March 15, 2022, dismissed various petitions challenging a ban on hijab in educational institutions. The High Court in its judgment stated that wearing the hijab is not an essential religious practice of Islam.

5. (c) March 16

National Vaccination Day is observed every year on March 16 to convey the significance of vaccination as well as its role in public health. The day aims to create awareness and sends the message that how vaccination or immunization is the most effective way of preventing highly infectious diseases.

6. (a) March 16

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya informed on March 14, 2022 that Covid-19 vaccination for children between 12-14years of age will begin from March 16. The co-morbidity clause for administering precaution doses to senior citizens has also been removed.
