1. (a) Karolina Bielawaska 

Poland's Karolina Bielawaska was crowned Miss World 2021 at the 70th edition of the beauty pageant at San Juan, Puerto Rico. The first runner-up was Miss USA Shree Saini, while the second runner-up was Olivia Yace of Cote d'Ivoire. Karolina Bielawaska was crowned by Jamaica's Toni-Ann Singh, who was Miss World 2019.

India's Manasa Varanasi was included in the top 13 list at the 11th position at Miss World 2021. She failed to make it to the top 6. This comes almost three months after India's Harnaaz Sandhu brought home the Miss Universe 2021 crown after 21 years. 

3. (b) March 17th

Kalpana Chawla was born on March 17, 1962 a Punjabi Hindu family in Karnal, Haryana. She was the Indian-origin woman and second Indian to fly in space. She died along with her six other crew members in the Columbia Space Shuttle disaster in 2003. Her first space flight was aboard Columbia Space Shuttle in 1997 as a mission specialist and primary robotic arm operator.

4. (a) Iran

Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe is a British-Iranian National, who was arrested by the Iranian Government on April 3, 2016 on charges of plotting to overthrow the Iranian government. Despite her denying the charges, she was detained for six years. She was finally allowed to leave Tehran on March 16 after months of negotiations.

5. (d) March 21st

Cyclone Asani is likely to hit the Andaman & Nicobar Islands on March 21st. A low-pressure area. which was formed on March 15, is expected to move east-northeastwards. After hitting Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Cyclone Asani is expected to move towards Myanmar and Bangladesh.

6. (c) Japan

A massive earthquake of 7.4 magnitude struck 297km northeast of Tokyo, Japan on March 16. Around 2 million homes were left without power and transportation links were affected. The earthquake occurred in the same area as the one that caused the 2011 Fukushima nuclear disaster. Though a tsunami warning was issued initially, it was lifted later by Japan's Meteorological Agency.
