Iran on 10 May 2011 agreed to resume talks on its controversial nuclear programme with six major nations- Britain, China, Russia, US, France and Germany. The talk was stalled since January 2011.
It should be noted that the 6 nations (P5+1) and Iran have already held two rounds of talks on the latter’s controversial nuclear programme in December 2010 and January2011. However, no consensus could be achieved between P5+1 and Iran during those two rounds. UN Security Council has already imposed four restrictions on Iran states that its nuclear programme is meant for peaceful purposes but USA and other western powers believe that Iran is stealthily carrying out its nuclear programme.
