Joshna Chinappa won inaugural Richmond Open of Squash at the Country Club of Virginia, US on 19 April 2014. Chinappa won against Australian Champion Rachael Grinham. Chinappa (ranked 21) scored 11-9, 11-5 and 11-8 in the finals and this was her first win in six meetings over Rachael Grinham (ranked 16).
This was Chinappa’s ninth Women Squash Association (WSA) tour title in Country Club of Virginia. This was the 16th final of Joshna and 65th for Grinham since her career started in 1998. Joshna was defeated by the Grinham at the Texas Open held from 8 April to 13 April 2014 in US.

• Chinappa is the first Indian to win the British Squash Championship title in 2003 in the under 19 category held in United Kingdom.
• She won the Chennai Open by defeating Sarah Jane Perry of England in 2012.
• She won the Winnipeg Winter Open trophy against Heba El Torky of Egypt on 2 February 2014.
