NITI Aayog’s Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) has launched a new digi-book- “Innovations for You” to showcase the success stories of Atal Innovation Mission’s Startups in different domains. 

The book's first edition is focused on innovations in Health Care. It showcases 45 startups that have worked to create new, disruptive and innovative products, services and solutions that can pave a path for a sustainable future in health care sector. Soon other sectors will also be included in the new Digi-book series. 

This comes as the country celebrates the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav – 75th Year of Independence.

Key Highlights

•NITI Aayog's new Digi-book is a compilation of 45 health tech startups, which have been incubated at Atal Incubation Centres spread across the country. 

•These startups have been leveraging technologies including IoT, AI, ICT and others to provide socially relevant solutions to health issues such as mental health, neonatal and child care, anemia, dental care and monitoring human vitals.

•The digital book was unveiled in the presence of NITI Aayog Vice Chairman Dr. Rajiv Kumar, NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant, NITI Aayog Member Dr. VK Paul and few other senior health officials and Mission Director of NITI Aayog's Atal Innovation Mission Dr, Chintan Vaishnav. 

•NITI Aayog Vice-Chairman said that the book aims to "serve as an encouragement to upcoming entrepreneurs to work on the path of creativity and imagination to address some of India’s pressing challenges.”

Significance

According to NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant, “Innovations for You is an attempt to showcase how young India is slowly but steadily moving towards becoming a world-class leader. Government of India with Atal Innovation Mission is supporting the startups and young leaders to achieve their dreams.”

The Digi-book series - Innovations for You- aims to showcase the best of innovations and entrepreneurs and bring them to the forefront. The subsequent editions of the book will focus on other emerging sectors including edutech, agritech and mobility etc. 

What is NITI Aayog's Atal Innovation Mission?

NITI Aayog's Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) is a flagship initiative that aims to promote innovation and entrepreneurship culture in the country. 

The objective of the mission is to create an umbrella structure to oversee and revolutionise the innovation ecosystem of the country.

AIM has adopted a holistic approach to accomplish its mission that includes schools, universities, research institutions, industry, MSME, NGOs, Ministries at all -district, state and national levels.

Following are few major initiatives taken under AIM:

Atal Tinkering Labs- These labs are currently supporting young innovators across schools in India.

Atal Incubation Centres-These centres foster world-class startups in universities and institutions and the private sector. 

Atal New India Challenges-They aim to foster product and service innovations in the country aligning them to the needs of various sectors/ministries/industry.

Atal Community Innovation Centre- These are promoting benefits of technology-led innovation to unserved regions of India including Tier 2 and 3 cities and rural India.

ARISE-The initiative aims to boost innovation and research in the MSME industry.
