India achieved the milestone of administering over 100 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses on October 21, 2021. The only other country to achieve the milestone of administering over a billion vaccine doses is China. It had crossed the mark of 100 crore doses in June 2021.

Sandra Mason was elected as the first-ever President of Barbados on October 20, 2021, with a two-thirds vote during a joint session of the country's House of Assembly and Senate. She will replace Britain's Queen Elizabeth II as head of state of Barbados.

Imprisoned Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny has been awarded the European Union's highest award for human rights-Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought. The Russian political leader was nominated for the award along with Afghan women and Bolivian political leader Jeanine Áñez, who had served as the interim president of the nation in 2019 after alleged electoral fraud by Evo Morales.

Kushinagar International Airport is the third international airport in Uttar Pradesh after Lucknow and Varanasi. The airport was inaugurated by PM Narendra Modi on October 20, 2021.

In a major blow to the two nations, the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) on October 21, 2021 placed Turkey on its grey list for failing to check terror financing and retained Pakistan as well. Overall, three countries were added to the grey list this time- Jordan, Mali and Turkey.

Renowned film directors Martin Scorsese and Istvan Szabo will be honoured with Satyajit Ray Lifetime Achievement Award at the 52nd International Film Festival of India (IFFI) to be held in Goa.

India has been ranked at the 71st position in the Global Food Security Index (GFSI) 2021. India was ranked 71st out of 113 countries with a score of 57.2 points. The GFS Index 2021 is a global report that was released on October 19, 2021 by The Economist Impact and Corteva Agriscience.

Former US President Donald Trump is planning to launch his own social media platform called 'TRUTH Social'. Trump said the social media group will form "a rival to the liberal media consortium."

9. (b) Somalia

As per the 2021 Global Hunger Index report, Somalia has the highest level of hunger. Somalia with a score of 50.8 points is facing extremely alarming levels of hunger.

10. (a) Chennai Super Kings

The MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings won the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League after defeating Eoin Morgan-led Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 27 runs in IPL 2021 final on October 15, 2021. This is CSK's 4th IPL title.
