The hope for Vinesh’s silver medal got quashed on August 14, when the Sole Arbitrator rejected the plea for joint silver for the athlete. Indian Olympic Association went to Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) with its petition of giving Vinesh Phogat a joint silver medal in the 50 kg Freestyle Wrestling event along with Cuba's Yusneylis Guzman Lopez. Harish Salve along with Vidushpat Singhania were representing the athlete in the court.
