The ICC Women's T20 World Cup has seen some incredible batting performances across its editions. New Zealand’s Aimee Watkins led the run-scoring charts in the inaugural 2009 edition with 200 runs in five matches, while fellow Kiwi Sara McGlashan topped the 2010 tournament with 147 runs.
Australia, the six-time champions, has produced the most top scorers in the history of the tournament. Beth Mooney holds the record for the most runs in a single Women's T20 World Cup, scoring 259 runs in six matches in 2020. Meg Lanning (257 in 2014) and Alyssa Healy (225 in 2018) also claimed top honors for Australia.
Other notable top scorers include England’s Charlotte Edwards (172 runs in 2012), the West Indies’ Stafanie Taylor (246 runs in 2016), and South Africa’s Laura Wolvaardt (230 runs in 2023).
New Zealand's Suzie Bates holds the overall record for the most career runs in Women’s T20 World Cup history, being the only player to surpass 1000 runs in the tournament’s history.
