Paris Couture Week is the most exclusive fashion event in the world. This event takes place in Paris twice a year. The main objective of having this event is to show custom-made "haute couture" clothing designs. In other words, "haute couture" refers to pure handmade clothing.

This type of artwork takes hundreds of hours to be produced, as it involves hand sewing. The term "Haute Couture" is a French word, which has been protected by the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode.

In 2026, at Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week, Indian billionaire Sudha Reddy made headlines owing to her personal jewellery collection. This collection, which cost $30 million (approximately ₹280 crore), included items designed by some of the major fashion designers.

Sudha Reddy was seen wearing an iridescent blue couture dress by Giorgio Armani Privé along with a 30-carat diamond ear piece fashioned after a panther. In addition, she was wearing a 23-carat yellow diamond ring which cost ₹20 crore.

The Indian billionaire was also seen wearing a beautiful floral dress by Elie Saab which went well with a turquoise ear cuff, a 21-carat pigeon-red ruby ring, and a 25-carat emerald ring.

To launch her debut design, the designer showed her boldest design in the form of a custom bow necklace. This necklace designed by Manish Malhotra includes 75 carats of diamonds and is inspired by Persian antiquities.

Sudha Reddy is an Indian businesswoman and philanthropist. She is the director of MEIL Group, or Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Limited. This large conglomerate is worth over $5 billion (₹40,000 crore).

Reddy was born on December 10, 1978. She grew up in a modest middle-class family in Vuyyuru, Andhra Pradesh. Her father was an employee of the State Bank of India.

She combined science and art. She finished her primary education in Vuyyuru and got a degree in Microbiology. Her love for creativity led her to later complete her post-graduation from the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Delhi.

Personal Life

She tied the knot with P.V. Krishna Reddy,  at the age of 19, who is a billionaire and entrepreneur and happens to be one of the co-founders of MEIL.

She is known all around the world for being a fashionista. Apart from attending the Paris Couture Week, she also makes frequent appearances at red carpet events such as the Met Gala (₹142 crore in jewellery in 2021, 2024, and 2026) and the Cannes Film Festival.

Business Career

Sudha is an important personality within MEIL Group whose involvement includes strategy formulation, hospitality activities, and the welfare of employees, as well as the corporate social responsibility of MEIL Group, which is one of the largest infrastructure and engineering companies in India.

Her contributions have been significant towards ensuring environmental sustainability in large infrastructure projects such as the greenfield Machilipatnam Port project.

Philanthropy

She is well known for all her charitable works because of her involvement in the work of the Sudha Reddy Foundation. She has associated herself with various international organisations like UNICEF, the Global Gift Foundation, and the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. She has become the first Global Ambassador of “Beauty With a Purpose” in the year 2025 in the Miss World Organisation.

She also organised the annual Pink Power Run event in Hyderabad, which is attended by over 20,000 people in order to create awareness about breast cancer and help finance healthcare at the NRI General Hospital.
