WhatsApp Brings Out Search By Date Feature For Android: Here Is How To Use It

WhatsApp the popular messaging platform is continuously working to improve user experience. In a recent move to provide better accessibility option, the platform is launching a “Search By Date” feature, bringing much-needed convenience to users’ message retrieval endeavours.

The feature was announced by the CEO of Meta, Mark Zuckerberg on his WhatsApp Channel. He mentions: “When you realize you've got the perfect response in an old chat…” and proceeds to search for a message from a particular date. “Credit to WhatsApp's new search by date feature,” he added. 

The feature has been already available on iOS, WhatsApp Web, and Mac desktops and allows users to pinpoint specific messages, photos, or videos sent on a particular date within their individual or group chats.

The platform also made it easier for people to block unwanted messages directly from the lock screen in its recent update.

How to Use WhatsApp’s Search By Date Feature? 

Here is how users can use the new feature: 

• Open any chat and tap the contact/group name at the top.
• Select "Search" from the menu that appears.
• Tap the calendar icon 
• Pick the desired year, month, and day using the date picker.
• WhatsApp will display messages and media specifically from the chosen date.
