Eligibility Criteria
Date of Birth:
As per the JEE Main 2018 eligibility criteria, only students whose birth date is on or after 1st October, 1993 are eligible. However, candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD categories are provided with 5 year relaxation in age limit
Year of Appearance in Qualifying Examination:
Candidates Who has appeared in Class 12th qualifying examination in 2016, 2017 or are appearing for qualifying exam in 2018 are only eligible for JEE Main 2018.
Number of subjects in the Qualifying Examination:
Candidate must have taken 5 subjects in Class 12th qualifying exam including Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics to be eligible for JEE Main 2018
Number of Attempts::
Candidates can appear for JEE Main 2018 only 3 times in total
Reservation of Seats
As per rules of Government of India, candidates belonging to reserved categories can avail admission under seats reservation quota. These categories are:
1. Other Backward Classes (OBC)- Non Creamy Layer
2. Scheduled Castes (SC)
3. Scheduled Tribes (ST)
4. Persons with Disability (PwD)
Benefits of seats reservation for admission to NITs/IIITs and CFTIs shall be given only to those classes/castes/tribes which are in the respective central list published by the Govt of India. For admission to State Engineering colleges who have opted for admission through JEE (Main)-2015, the reservation rules of that state shall apply.

Exam Pattern
Paper-1 (B.E/B.Tech courses):
Exam Mode - Exam will be conducted in both in offline mode i.e. Pen Paper based test and in online mode i.e. Computer based test
Test Duration - The duration will be of three (3) hours
Type of Questions - The test paper of JEE Main 2018 will be completely objective type i.e. Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ)
Number of Questions - JEE Main 2018 question paper will carry total 90 questions equally divided in to 3 sections
Test Medium - JEE Main 2018 test paper will be available in English, Hindi, Urdu, Marathi and Gujrati Languages for convinience of students
Marks Allotted - Each question of JEE Main 2018 test paper carries 4 marks
Negative Marking Scheme - In case of incorrect responses, one fourth (1/4) of marks allotted to the question will be deducted i.e. -1 marks.
Paper-2 (B.Arch/B.Planning):
Test Mode - The paper 2 of JEE Main 2018 will only be held in offline mode i.e. Pen Paper based test
Exam Duration - The test duration for JEE Main 2018 paper 2 will be of three hours.
Questions Type - For Part I and II, the questions will be in MCQ format and for Part III, the questions will require candidates to draw.
Total number of Questions - Part I and Part II carries 30 MCQs and 50 MCQs respectively and Part III carries 2 questions

Registration Procedure
1. Candidates need to register online for JEE Main 2018 with basic details including Name, Nationality, State of Eligibility, Date of Birth, Phone (Mobile) Number, E-Mail Id, Identification Number and Type, Gender and Set a Password
2. Fill the Online Application Form after login with JEE Main 2018 application number and fill details like academic details, exam appearing etc.
3. Candidates need to upload ccanned copies of their recent color and passport size Photograph as well as for Signature and Thumb impression
