IIT Gandhinagar to begin Virtual Seminar Series on different topics during lockdown

To make sure that the academic courses are going as per plan, the Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar is starting a virtual seminar series from today onwards. The Virtual seminar will be conducted by the faculty members of IIT Gandhinagar covering all the different topics and will be accessible to all.

The aim of the seminar series is to provide a useful intellectual resource to all during the time of crisis. According to a statement released by the institute, IIT Gandhinagar will be conducting two seminars per week on Monday and Friday from 4 to 5: 15 PM which will continue until the end of the summer vacation.

The statement released also points out that the lineup for the seminar includes topics like What is a black hole?, Doing Carpentry with DNA, Ornaments of the Dead among the Nagas, human relationship with Virus, An introduction to the Theory of Partitions, Glasses: the original super cool materials, Languages, and Scripts of India, History, and geography of fluid mechanics, etc.
Faculty speaker and Coordinator of the seminar, Professor Sudipta Sarkar while speaking about the seminars lined up said that with the pandemic throwing all the academic activities off track this pandemic also provides an opportunity to test things which have never been done before. He also added that plans for various innovative education programmes using online platforms are also being done.
Institutions are coming up with various activities to be done during the lockdown in order to keep people engaged. Seminars like these along with other activities by other institutions across the country are ways in which people can be kept informed and interested during the lockdown.
