List of Exams Cancelled due to Coronavirus: Several States to promote students from 1st to 9th Class without exams

For the first time in the history, the International Baccalaureate Board has decided to promote students of 10^th and 12^th Classes to the next academic year, without holding annual exams. Typically, IB Board Exams are held in the month of May. However, looking at the current circumstances around the world due to Coronavirus Pandemic; the board has decided to call off the examination. Students from India who study under IB or International Board Schools will be impacted by this decision. 

With the rising number of cases of COVID-19 across the country, the Central Government announced a 21-day lockdown to curb the spread of Coronavirus in the country. Due to the lockdown, the Jharkhand State Government has decided to prompt the students of class 5 to 7 without them appearing for the examination. The Jharkhand Academic Council, which manages the school level education in the state took the decision after consulting the state government and reviewing the situation in the state.

After Gujarat, Tamil Nadu has become the third state to announce promotion of All the students in the state of Tamil from Classes 1 through 9 to the higher class without holding exams. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, K Palaniswami announced the decision on Wednesday and added that the decision was taken by the state government keeping health and welfare of the students in mind. Earlier, DGET TN had also announced postponement of TN 11^th Public Exam 2020 in the state, while continuing the 12^th Class Board Exams as per the schedule.

Amid rising concerns around the COVID-19 pandemic, the Gujarat Technological University has locked down its campus and postponed all the GTU Summer Exams 2020 that were scheduled to be held in April – May 2020. The University confirmed the decision to postpone Summer Exams through an official notification published on its website. In addition to this, the varsity has also announced complete lockdown of the campus and urged students to stay away from campus until further notice. All information about exams and academic matters will be conveyed to them through GTU official website and other online platforms.

TBSE i.e. Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) decided to cancel the Tripura Board Exam 2020 in the state in the view of the Coronavirus outbreak in the country. TBSE on Monday i.e. 23^rd March 2020 issued a notification confirming that all board exams scheduled until 31^st March 2020 have been postponed by the Board. Fresh dates for the Tripura Board 10^th and 12^th Exam 2020 will be issued by the board at a later date.

The Directorate of Government Exams, Tamil Nadu today announced that it is postponing the 11^th Class Exam which is scheduled to be held from 26^th March 2020. However, the DGETN has decided to continue the 12^th Class Public Exam which starts today as per the regular schedule. Earlier, TN HC issued an order asking the exam authorities to start the TN 12^th Public Exam 2020 by 10:30 AM to help parents and teachers reach the examination hall on time. Apart from the TN 12^th Public Exam 2020 all other examinations and governmental elections to colleges and schools are postponed.

Today afternoon, AP Education Minister announced that AP SSC Exam 2020 for 10^th Class students has been postponed. The minister addressed a press meet in which he said that the AP 10^th Board Exam 2020 which were to start from 31^st March 2020 have been postponed by atleast two weeks. The minister also said that the new AP SSC Exam 2020 datesheet will be announced by the BSEAP soon to help students prepare for the board exam accordingly.

According to the latest update, the International Baccalaureate has cancelled IB Exams 2020 which were scheduled to be held in May 2020. The cancellation of International Baccalaureate Exams come in the wake of COVID-19 outbreak across the globe. According to the official notification, the IB Exams which were originally scheduled to be held from April 30 to May 22 for Diploma Programme and Career-related Programme students would no longer be held. IB is the equivalent of Board Exams that are held by CBSE or state boards. Students from India, who study in International Schools will be affected by it. Globally, 200,000 students pursue their school education through International Baccalaureate.

ExaBihar BEd CET 2020 Exam, which was scheduled to be held on 29th March 2020 has been postponed. The 2020 session of Bihar CET BEd Exam was to be conducted by Lalit Narayan Mithila University, Darbhanga to faciliate screening of candidates to BEd programmme offered by various colleges based in the state. However, looking at the prevailing condition due to Coronaviurs outbreak and the directions issued by UGC and state government; Bihar B.Ed CET 2020 examination has been postponed until further notice. 

With JEE Main 2020 April Exam and several other entrance exams as well as board exams being postponed due to COVID-19; medical aspirants who are due to appear for NEET UG 2020 exams have started to begun of the medical entrance exam will also be postponed. However, so far NTA has not announced any directions regarding delay or cancellation of NEET UG 2020 exam. But, as the medical entrance exam is scheduled to be held on 3^rd May; NTA would not announce any directive for the same so early. Therefore, until any official confirmation, medical candidates are advised to steer clear of any rumours and only refer official website or reliable sources like jagranjosh.com for updates.

Aligarh Muslim University i.e. AMU has also announced cancellation of all admission and departmental tests, including AMU BA LLB 2020 exam. The decision was taken by the varsity as a precautionary measure against the COVID-19 outbreak in the country. Currently, no new dates have been announced for the entrance exam but the varsity is expected to issue revised timeline and schedule for the same soon.

Vellore Institute of Technology has decided to postpone VITEEE 2020 exam considering the current circumstances after the COVID-19 outbreak in the country. In addition to postponing the examination, the institute has also decided to extend the application deadline for VITEEE 2020 until further notice to enable candidates who missed out on applying earlier.

As per the latest update, Maharashtra Government has decided to cancel all school level examinations for primary and upper primary classes. According to the government notification, students of Class 1^st to 8^th will be promoted to the next class without any exams due to the coronavirus outbreak. The decision was announced by Maharashtra Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad while interacting with media persons. She also added that exams for 9^th and 11^th Class students will be held after 15^th April 2020.

Keeping in mind the rising threat of COVID-19 infections, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) will reopen the application correction window for ICAI CA May 2020 Examinations. The window will open on 21^st March allowing candidates to make chances to the exam centre / test centres field provided in the application form. The application correction window will stay open until 23^rd March 2020.

Addressing the concerns of parents and students, Telangana High Court has asked TSBSE and State Government to postpone Telangana SSC Exam 2020 from Monday onwards. The Court ordered Telangana State Board of Secondary Education to postpone all papers that are scheduled to be held from 23^rd March 2020 to 31^st March 2020. However, exam scheduled to be held tomorrow i.e. 21^st March 2020 will be held as per the regular schedule.

The Jammu & Kashmir administration has ordered all teaching and non-teaching staff members to follow mandatory ‘Work From Home’ policy as classwork has been suspended in the UT following the outbreak of Coronavirus. The order also states that only the headmasters/ ZEOs / Principles/ CEOs/ HODs etc are allowed to enter the school premises but they are also to maintain social distancing. Yesterday, various universities of the region also announced closure following the guidelines issued by UGC and MHRD.

As per the latest update, the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti has decided to postpone NVS TGT 2019 interview dates following the Coronavirus outbreak in the country. The original notification stated that the NVS TGT Interview 2019 will be conducted from 16^th March 2020 to 28^th March 2020. Now, the Samiti has issued ordered saying that all interviews after 19^th March 2020 have been postponed until further notice.  

According to latest update, the Services Selection Board Batches which were slated to commence from 20^th March 2020 have been put on hold  in the wake of Coronavirus outbreak. Indian Army issued a notification confirming the development to postpone start of all the Services Selection Board Batches. SSB Batches for nearly 90 courses were expected to start from 20^th March 2020 in which jawans and officers from various regiments of the Indian Army would be participating.

Following a high level meeting today morning (20^th March 2020), Kerala Government has decided to postpone SSLC / 10^th Class and Plus Two i.e. Class 12 Exams as a precautionary measure to prevent the spread of COVID-19. In addition to SSLC and Plus Two Exams, Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan also said that University and School level examinations have also been postponed by the board.

Due to the rising number of cases of COVID-19, Gujarat Secondary Education Board (GSEB) has postponed the GUJCET 2020 exam. The Gujarat Common Entrance Test 2020 is a state level entrance exam which was to  be held on 31^st March 2020 to screen candidates for admission to engineering and pharmacy programmes. As of now the exam has been postponed and will now be held after 15^th April 2020.

In line accordance with the Government directive, Punjab School Examination Board i.e. PSEB has postponed the exam for all the pending papers for both 10^th and 12^th Class students. According to the official notification, Punjab Board has postponed all the exams that were scheduled to be held between 20^th March 2020 and 31^st March 2020 in the view of COVID-19 outbreak. The official notification read “all the practical board exams for Class 8 as well as the scheduled written exams for Classes 5, 10 and 12 have been postponed till March 31.” In addition to this, the government has also relieved all teaching and non-teaching staff from attending school until 31^st March 2020 looking at the Coronavirus Emergency.

In line with the other state board examinations being postponed, Chhattisgarh Board has also decided to postpone the on-going CGBSE 10^th and 12^th Board Exam 2020 until 31^st March 2020. According to the datesheet, CG Board 10^th Exam 2020 were to be held from 3^rd to 26^th March 2020 while Class 12 Exams were to be held from 2^nd to 31^st March 2020. After postponement, students who had papers left after 20^th March will now have to appear for those exams after 31^st March 2020. The rescheduled dates for Chhattisgarh Board Exam 2020 will be announced at a later date by the board.

Along with Schools, University and Board Exams, several government recruitment agencies have also called off their examinations in the view of COVID-19 outbreak. According to a notice published by the Staff Selection Commission, SSC CHSL Exam 2020 scheduled to be held on 20^th March 2020 has been postponed.  On similar line, the commission has also postponed the SSC JE Exam 2020 which was to be held on 30^th March and 2^nd April 2020. Haryana Government has implemented ‘Work From Home’ policy for teaching and non-teaching staff of government as well as private schools operating in the state. The order to this effect was passed by Principal Secretary, School Education Department, Mahavir Singh, who said that the state government has decided to completely close down schools in the state until 31^st March 2020. Evaluation work for exams already held will continue in Work From Home mode for all the teachers.

Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV), Indore has also announced postponement of all undergraduate level exams scheduled until 31^st March 2020. Nearly 1.3 lakh students from the varsity were registered to appear for DAVV UG Exam 2020 starting soon. DAVV vice chancellor Dr Renu Jain issued a notification which said that all exams have been postponed in line with the government’s order. However, the University is expected to continue the evaluation work during this period as DAVV follows decentralized evaluation process. The university sends the bundles to the examiners and therefore the evaluation work will continue.

MP Board has cancelled 10^th and 12^th Board Exams due to Coronavirus outbreak in India. According to the official notification published by the MP Board, all exams including High School i.e. 10^th Class, Higher Secondary i.e. 12^th Class and Higher Secondary Vocational Exams have been postponed until 31^st March 2020. In addition to this, the board has also postponed the evaluation of answer books which was slated to commence from 21^st March 2020.

Kendriya Vidyalya Sangathan (KVS) has ordered closure of three Kendriya Vidyalyas located outside India, keeping in mind the rising threat of Coronavirus infections for its students. Following the orders issued by KVS, Kendriya Vidyalyas in Kathmandu, Moscow and Tehran will be closed until further notice.

Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot has announced that his government has decided to postpone all school, colleges and board exams until further notice due to the Coronavirus outbreak. The decision has been taken as part of Gehlot Government’s measures to counter COVID-19 in the state.

Following the MRHD order directing educational institutions to cancel exams, the University Grants Commission has also issued a notification for all universities advising them to postpone exams until 31^st March 2020. In addition to the examinations, UGC has also directed the varsities to halt all on-going evaluation work for exams held so far to ensure safety and health of evaluators and teachers.

Amid rising concerns around COVID-19 infection, the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has decided to postpone Bihar DElEd Exam 2020 to a later date. As per the regular schedule, the Bihar DElEd Entrance Exam was scheduled to be held on 28^th March, but the same has now been postponed indefinitely, until further notice. As per tentative estimates, around 1.81 lakh candidates have registered for the Bihar Diploma Elementary Education 2020 Entrance Test. 

Delhi Government has issued a notice stating that all schools in located in Delhi will remain closed until 31^st March 2020 for all teaching and non-teaching staff. Earlier, the Arvind Kejriwal government had announced closure of schools for students, but teachers and other staff members were required to be present at the schools. Keeping in view the COVID-19 threat, the Delhi government has asked for complete closure of the schools until 31^st March 2020 for staff members as well.

Rajasthan University has also announced that it is postponing all the examinations for UG and PG students until 31^st March, in line with the MHRD directive. The university stated that all examination, including those to be held by college affiliated with the University of Rajasthan will now be postponed and new or revised dates for the same will be announced at a later stage. The university has also advised students to keep visiting the official website to get latest news and updates.

CISCE Board has decided to postpone ICSE 10^th Board Exam 2020 and ISC 12^th Board Exam 2020 in the view of COVID-19 threat to the students. The board announced its decision to cancel all exams scheduled until 31^st March in line with the MHRD order issued yesterday through a notification. The notification stated that ‘the revised dates for conduct of remaining papers shall be notified in due course of time. The board has also asked all the respective schools to ensure that concerned students, teachers and parents are informed of this decision. 

The Board of School Education, Haryana has postponed all exams including all the remaining papers of BSEH 10^th and 12^th Exam 2020 until 31^st March in the view of the Coronavirus outbreak in the country. HBSE i.e. Haryana Board will be issuing fresh dates for the postponed examinations after 31^st March 2020. In the meanwhile, Haryana Board has also issued a notification confirming the same and also advised students and parents not to panic and practice social distancing to keep COVID-19 at bay. The board also notified that the measure has been implemented as a precautionary move for safety and health of the students.

In the light of MHRD order for cancellation of all University Exams, Aligarh Muslim University has also decided to postpone all its on-going and scheduled exams until 31^st March 2020. Yesterday, AMU had cancelled the school admission entrance test in the light of Coronavirus outbreak. Now, the varsity has decided to postpone all UG and PG exams for AMU until end of the month. Students must note that exams have been cancelled for all exam centres including Malappuram, Murshidabad and Kishanganj, all school exams including the class 10 and 12 exams, and all mid-semester exams in ZH College of Engineering and Technology, Faculty of Engineering and Technology.

Following MHRD order advising cancellation of all University Exams, Rohilkhand University has also postponed all exams to be held until 31^st March 2020. Rohilkhand University Controller of Examinations Dr Sanjeev Kumar Sinh has said that revised dates for examinations will be announced only after they get further instructions from the administration. While the university has cancelled all exams and halted all teaching related activities, teachers, university administration officials are still required to be present at the university during this period.

In the light of rising threat of COVID-19 infections, Kendriya Vidhyalaya across the country have decided to either cancel the exams altogether or postpone them until April. The decision to cancel exam was taken at a high powered committee in which it was decided that exams for 6^th to 8^th class students would be cancelled.

Following the order or Srinagar District Administration, Cluster University Srinagar (CUS) has also postponed all examinations scheduled to be held until 31^st March. In addition to this, CUS has also postponed the on-going admission process for first semester students until further notice. On similar lines, Central University of Kashmir (CUK) has also postponed all the examination with immediate effect. Students have been asked to vacate hostels, as all hostels are expected to locked and sealed until further notice.

According to media reports, JKBOSE i.e. Jammu and Kashmir Board has decided to cancel all examinations for Summer and Winter zone students and reschedule the same after 31^st March 2020, after reviewing the situation around COVID-19. Similarly, Kashmir University has also postponed all its exams for undergraduate and postgraduate students as well. As per the statement provided by Registrar KU, Dr. Nisar Ahmad Mir, new dates for postponed exams will be notified later, separately.
