To qualify for the second, or ‘improvement’ exam, students must have taken the first one. They can try to improve scores in up to three subjects. Missing more than three subjects in the first exam means a student cannot take the second exam. For the 2026-2027 session, the first exam is in March, and the improvement exam is in May. Students who miss the first exam for valid sports reasons can take it during the second session.
