Schools in Patna are ready to reopen for the new academic session from the first week of April 2021 following the suggestion from the Central Board of Secondary Education. A few of the schools are however waiting for the state education department's decision to resume the regular classes for the students considering the fresh wave of COVID-19 cases in the state.
Many of the prominent schools in the state have announced that they are ready to start the new academic session for the students and have conducted the final examinations for the students and declared the results.
Measures taken by schools in Patna
Mary Kutty Thomas, Principal, St Karen’s Secondary School stated that all the students will attend regular classes in the new academic session. She further added that earlier, the school conducted online classes for the students below class 9 due to the ongoing examinations and as per the COVID-9 guidelines, 50 percent of students will attend the classes on alternate days.
He also pointed out that owing to the increase in the COVID-19 cases, school staff is prepared to effectively enforce preventive measures.
Vice Principal, Bishop Scott Boys School - Ashfaque Iqbal stated that the schools start the new academic session and hope to register good physical attendance in the new academic year as parents seem convinced to send their children to school. Students have also adapted to the guidelines issued, he further added.
