UP School Reopening News: Yogi Govt allows Schools to reopen from 15th Oct in Graded Manner, Get Details Here

UP School Reopening News: As per the latest update, Uttar Pradesh Government is planning to reopen schools across the state from 15th October 2020 onwards in a graded manner. The State Administration informed that the decision to reopen schools in the state would be taken by the district administration on the basis of local Covid-19 situation and in consultation with schools. To confirm the development, th state administration has issued new guidelines which allow schools along with coaching institutes, outside the containment zones to reopen in the state after 15^th October 2020 onwards.  

Decision in line with Unlock 5.0 Guidelines

The decision in Uttar Pradesh to reopen schools was taken by the Yogi Government in line with the Unlock 5.0 Guidelines issued by the Central Government. Announcing the decision, UP Chief Secretary RK Tiwari informed media person that Schools, which fall outside containment zones will be allowed to reopen from 15^th October 2020 onwards. While in-principal approval for reopening of schools has been given by the state government, the final decision will rest on local administration and its assessment of prevailing COVID-19 situation in the district.

Voluntary Attendance & Parents’ Consent

According to the revised guidelines shared by the state government, classes have been allowed to be held in the schools from 15^th October 2020 onwards in line with the unlock guidelines. While schools will be reopened for this, attending schools will be a voluntary choice that will be provided to these students. No formal attendance system will be followed and moreover, students will need to have explicit consent from their parents to start attending schools from 15^th October 2020 onwards.
