Chandigarh School Winter Vacation: Chandigarh schools have extended the winter vacations have been extended. The state has extended the winter school vacations due to the intense cold weather in Chandigarh. According to the notification released, schools will remain closed for students until class 8 until January 20, 2024. Chandigarh schools will reopen on January 22, 2024.
Chandigarh School Education Director in the announcement mentioned that due to the continuing weather conditions and to avoid the exposure of children to the extreme weather, classes in the physical mode will not be conducted for students until class 8. An order has also been issued for schools to conduct online classes.
Students from classes 9 to 12 will however attend classes from 9:30 am to 4 pm. The timings are being regulated considering the cold weather early in the morning and the late evening and the time taken by children to commute to and from school.

States like Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi, extended the winter vacation 2023 for schools. Considering the extended dates, the schools in the northern states are to reopen on January 15, 2023. It must be noted that although the temperature in these states is dipping a decision regarding the extension of winter vacations has not yet been announced. Students are advised to keep in touch with their schools for updates regarding the reopening of schools.
