Assam TET 2026: The Assam TET 2026 registration process has started with the release of the official notification on 06 January 2026. The application process will be done online from 07 January 2026 for candidates aspiring to become teachers in Lower and Upper Primary schools in Assam. The Special Assam Teacher Eligibility Test is being conducted to assess the eligibility of the candidates to teach Lower Primary and Upper Primary level for the Bodo, Garo, Manipuri and Hmar medium, under the Government of Assam. Applicants must check eligibility criteria, fee details, and other important dates before applying.

Assam TET 2026 

Assam TET 2026 is a state-level eligibility examination for recruiting candidates for teaching positions in Assam schools which teach in Language-1 i.e., Bodo, Garo, Manipuri and Hmar. Candidates qualifying Assam TET become eligible for teacher appointments in Primary and Upper Primary levels across the state’s government and aided schools.

How to Apply for Assam TET 2026

Candidates who wish to apply for Assam TET 2026 can follow the steps provided below to fill their application form:

STEP 1: Visit one of the official portals- sebaonline.org, ssa.assam.gov.in, or scert.assam.gov.in.

STEP 2: Find the link for “Special TET 2026- For Primary and Upper Primary Level” and click on it. A new page will open containing the link to apply.

STEP 3: Click on “Click Here” button given beneath the “Link for online application submission for SPECIAL ASSAM TEACHER ELIGIBILITY TEST (TET) - 2026”.

STEP 4: You will be redirected to another page where you will find the link to register/apply. Click on it.

STEP 5: Read general instructions provided on the page before applying. After reading, click on “Next” button.

STEP 6: Page containing the application form will be opened on your screen. Fill all the details carefully.

• Mention if you belong to Reserved Category

• Upload Photograph and Signature

STEP 7: Enter the login details such as the Password.

Assam TET 2026 Eligibility Criteria

According to the official notification, The eligibility criteria of a candidate to appear in the Special Assam TET2026 are as follows:

• The candidate must be a permanent resident of the State of Assam.

• Candidate must have minimum academic and professional qualification as per NCTE norms as follows:

Minimum Qualification for appearing in Lower Primary TET (Classes I to V)

• Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) OR

• Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4- year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B. El.Ed.) OR

• Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education) OR

• Graduation and two year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)

Minimum Qualification for appearing in Upper Primary TET (Classes VI to VIII)

• Graduation and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) OR At least 50% marks in Graduation and B. Ed. OR

• At least 55% marks in Post Graduation or equivalent grade and three year integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed. OR

• Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4- year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B. El. Ed). OR

• Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4- year B.A./B. Sc. Ed. Or B.A. Ed/B. Sc. Ed. OR

• Graduation with at least 50% marks and 1-year B. Ed.(Special Education)

Note: Minimum percentage of marks in graduation shall not be applicable to those incumbents who had already taken admission to the Bachelor of Education or Bachelor of Elementary Education or equivalent course prior to 29 July, 2011.
