Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) is one of the Navratna PSUs catering to core sector of Indian Economy viz., Power Generation, Transmission, Industry, Telecommunication, and Renewable Energy. It invites application from eligible candidates for the post of Translation Assistant and Hindi Typing Assistant on a Fixed Tenure Appointment (FTA) basis for a period of two years.

Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification for Translation Assistant
- MA in Hindi with English as a subject at graduation level from a recognised university. OR
- MA in graduation as a subject at graduation level from a recognised university or with Government recognised Hindi knowledge of graduation level from any institute. OR
- Graduation with English and Hindi as main subjects from a recognised university. OR
- Graduation with English as a subject from a recognised university with Government recognised Hindi knowledge of graduation level from any institute.
Note: Preference will be given to those candidates who have diploma in Translation (from English to Hindi & vice-versa)
Educational Qualification for Hindi Typing Assistant
- Graduation or equivalent with Hindi as a subject or medium of instruction from a recognised university. OR
- Knowledge of Hindi Typing at speed of 25 words per minute.
Remuneration: Rs 18,000 (Translation Assistant); Rs 17,000 (Hindi Typing Assistant)
Age Limit (as on 1 July 2011)
- Maximum 30 years (Translation Assistant)
- Maximum 27 years (Hindi Typing Assistant)
Application Fee: Candidates belonging to General/ OBC category need to pay a fee of Rs 100 in the form of Demand Draft favouring BHEL, New Delhi.
Selection Procedure
(Translation Assistant): The selection will be made on the basis of written exam (covering knowledge of general Hindi and translation from English to Hindi and vice- versa & Hindi/ English equivalents of technical terminology) followed by an interview. The final selection will be made on the basis of merit list of candidates belonging to General/ OBC on securing 40% marks and SC/ ST/ PH candidates securing 35% marks.
(Hindi Typing Assistant): The selection will be made on the basis of typing test on computer followed by an interview. Candidates securing the speed at 25 wpm will be declared passed.
