    The Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani is an all India Institution declared as Deemed to be University under Section 3 of the UGC Act. Admissions to all the Integrated First Degree programmes of BITS, Pilani, at Pilani campus, Goa campus, and Hyderabad Campus for the academic year 2018-19 will be made on the basis of a Computer based Online Test conducted by BITS, Pilani. This test will be referred to as ‘BITS Admission Test – 2018’, in short as BITSAT-2018 hereafter in this document.

    The Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani has released BITSAT 2018 Admit card. Students should download the admit card on or before May 10. The exam will be conducted via online mode between May 16 and May 31 both dates inclusive. Students will not be permitted to enter into examination hall without the printout of the admit card. Students can download the admit card/hall ticket with the help of the steps given below:

    1. Visit the official website i.e., bitsadmission.com

    2. Click on the link “CLICK HERE” to download the hall ticket.

    3. Fill all the required details like application number, gender, date of birth and email id (all fields are compulsory) to download BITSAT 2018 Admit card.

    4. Students should check all the details like Name, Photograph and Signature, Application number, Test centre, Test centre address, Test date, Test time, Date of exam and test slot given on the admit card very carefully.

    5. After verifying all the details take a print out of the admit card.

     In case of any discrepancy, candidates should immediately contact the Admissions Office, BITS, Pilani, for the necessary action.

    Eligibility Criteria

    (i) For admission to all the above programmes except B.Pharm.: Candidates should have passed the 12th examination of 10+2 system from a recognized Central or State board or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics and adequate proficiency in English.

    (ii) For admission to B.Pharm.: Candidates should have passed the 12th examination of 10+2 system from a recognized Central or State board or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology and adequate proficiency in English. However candidates with PCM may also apply for Pharmacy program.

    Admission to all the programmes is subject to the conditions given below.

    The candidate should have obtained a minimum of aggregate 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects (if he/she has taken Mathematics in BITSAT) or a minimum of aggregate 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects (if he/she has taken Biology in BITSAT) subjects in 12th examination, with at least 60% marks in each of the Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics / Biology subjects.

    Only Students who are appearing for 12th examination in 2018 or who have passed 12th Examination in 2017 are eligible to appear in the BITSAT-2018 test. If a candidate has taken more than one attempt in 12th class or its equivalent, only his latest performance is considered, provided this attempt has been for the full component of subjects/courses prescribed. Students who have passed 12th examination in 2016 or earlier are NOT eligible to appear in BITSAT-2018. Students who are presently studying in BITS at any of its campuses are not eligible to appear in BITSAT-2018.

    Admissions will be made purely on merit. The merit position of the candidate for admission will be based on the score obtained by the candidate in the BITSAT-2018. However, their eligibility for admission is subject to fulfilling the requirement of minimum marks in 12th examination, as mentioned above.

    Direct Admission to Board Toppers: In the past, admission process of the Institute always ensured guaranteed admission to all the students who obtained first ranks in their respective board examinations. This has given a very vital input of highly meritorious students from all over India. First rank students of all the central and state boards in India for the year 2018 will be given direct admission to the program of their choice, irrespective of their BITSAT-2018 score as per the eligibility criteria mentioned above.

    Tips and Strategy for BITSAT 2018

    Since the students are fresher, some of students might be striving real hard to get all the things done correctly and finally settles the admission in the BITS.

    Since BITSAT conducted by BITS is a national level examinations similar to IIT JEE Main, JEE Advanced. And to crack this entrance test is no less than these exams. You really need to align all your efforts to clear it with flying colors. It is really considered as s tough nut to crack. So, guys tighten your seat belt and start your preparation with all your potential. The simple strategy to start with is to prepare for this test intelligently and smartly, so that it becomes a cakewalk for you.

    1. Thorough Understanding of Syllabus:

    The first step towards preparation for BITSAT is to understand the complete syllabus. The syllabus gives you insights about what are the things you should study. Then according to the syllabus try to complete your text books revision as many times as you can. In order to do that, you must also complete your NCERT textbooks as they will help you build your base and also brush up your basics. So, carefully cover all the topics of NCERT books. This process will help you to understand basic concepts.

    2. Revision Notes:

    During the phase of preparation jolt down notes while preparing for the exam as this will be of great help in last minute revision. Always remember, your notes are your best friends during the exam. Keep your notes handy so that you don’t have to go back to your books again and again.

    3. Practice for accuracy and Speed:

    The BITSAT tests the candidate with their speed and comprehensive abilities, students must give special attention to their speed in working out the problems while preparing for this entrance exam. And its not only the speed which matter, but you must also look upto the accuracy with such speed. So try to make your own strategy to increase the accuracy with speed to clear the exam.

    4. Join Test Series and practice Model Test Paper:

    It is always vety important to practice as many model question papers as you can but solve each question within a fixed time frame. To give extra edge to yourself join any good test series for random test. This will build up your confidence, enhance your knowledge and increase your speed. Also, by solving model question papers, you will get an idea about the exam pattern.

    It is always advisable to not spend too much time on a particular question. Try to reduce the wastage of time for a particular problem, if you are unable to solve it. It is better if you judge the question to know its difficulty level and solve the easy questions first.

    Some important points related to BITSAT 2018 are given below:

    1. It will be of total 3 hours duration (without break).

    2. All questions are of objective type (multiple choice questions).

    3. Each question with choice of four answers, only one being correct choice.

    4. Each correct answer fetches 3 marks, while each incorrect answer has a penalty of 1 mark.

    5. No marks will be awarded for questions not attempted.

    6.  The computer will not allow the candidate to choose more than one option as correct answer.
