IBPS Clerk Cut-off 2018

Are you preparing for IBPS Clerk 2018 recruitment exam & wondering what might be the official IBPS Clerk Cut-off or official stat-wise IBPS Clerk Cut-off 2018? Generally, official category-wise & state-wise IBPS Clerk Prelims Cut-off 2018 will be declared by Institute of Banking Personnel (IBPS) after the announcement of IBPS Clerk Prelims Result 2018, i.e., most probably in December 2018 or January 2019. Similarly, official IBPS Clerk Mains Cut-off 2018 will be announced after the completion of IBPS Clerk Mains 2018. However, in this article, we can give you an idea about the final expected cut-off of IBPS Clerk 2018 recruitment exam.

Cut-off of bank recruitment exam like IBPS Clerk depends on three main factors:

• Number of vacancies

• State and number of candidates appeared for the exam

• The difficulty level of questions the exam

Let’s discuss each point one by one in detail.

Number of vacancies

The number of vacancies has decreased this year. Last year there were 7884 vacancies for IBPS Clerk Post, but this year this number is 7275. This drop in the number of jobs indicates that there will be a rise in the official IBPS Clerk Cut-off 2018. Different states have different vacancies, and this might also affect IBPS Clerk Cut-off 2018.

State and number of candidates appeared for the exam

The number of vacancies is different for different states. Also, the total number of candidates applying for IBPS Clerk Prelims from different states is also different.

So, state-wise IBPS Clerk Cut-off varies from state to state.  But, change in percentage-wise IBPS Clerk Cut-off almost remains same.

For example, let’s suppose, qualifying marks of IBPS Clerk Prelims Cut-off 2018 for Uttar Pradesh state is increased by 5% then, qualifying marks for Bihar state will be around 5%, i.e. it may vary 4.5% or 5.5%.

The difficulty level of questions the exam

Cut-off of any competitive exam depends on the difficulty level of questions besides the number of vacancies (region-wise), and the number of candidates appeared for the exam.

Generally, when the difficulty level of the exam is too high, then cut-off is likely to be low, and when the difficulty level of the exam is too low, then the cut-off is expected to be high.

If we observed analysis of various exams conducted by IBPS recently (IBPS RRB Office Assistant, IBPS RRB Officer Scale I), no significant change in the difficulty level of the questions is observed.

So, it is expected that the difficulty level of the exam will be more or less remain the same, as compared to the previous year.

Now if we consider all the factors given above, then we can observe a slight variation in the official IBPS Clerk Cut-off 2018.

IBPS Clerk Prelims Cut-off 2018

For the reasons mentioned above, IBPS Clerk Prelims Cut-off 2018 is likely to go up, and one can observe 5% to 15% variation.

IBPS Clerk Mains Cut-off 2018

IBPS Clerk Mains Cut-off 2018 is also likely to go up, and one can observe 5% to 15% variation.

For the final result, only marks of IBPS Clerk Mains are taken into consideration. So candidates preparing for IBPS Clerk should prepare themselves for the competition accordingly.
