Indian Navy SSC 2024 Eligibility Criteria: The Indian Navy (IAF) released the notification for Short Service Commission (SSC) officers for the course commencing January 2025 at the Indian Naval Academy (INA). For which the online application process will start on February 24, 2024.
Through this entry, the Indian Navy will fill 254 vacancies of commissioned officers in various branches like General Service (GS(X)), Pilot, Naval Air Operations Officer (NAOO), Air Traffic Controller (ATC), Logistics, Naval Armament Inspection Cadre (NAIC), Education, Engineering, Naval Constructor.
Like any other defence service exam, candidates applying for this entry will also have to meet certain physical eligibility conditions along with educational qualifications to join the Indian Navy. In this article, we will discuss all the eligibility criteria in details.

The Indian Navy invites online applications from young, dynamic, and unmarried male and female Indian citizens possessing educational qualifications and age as prescribed in the official notification. The selected candidate will be inducted into the rank of Sub-Lieutenant after successfully completing the training at the Indian Naval Academy (INA). Indian Navy SSC Entry Eligibility Criteria
The Indian Navy SSC Eligibility Criteria is released by the Indian Navy in the official notification. Every candidate needs to fulfil these conditions to apply for the Indian Navy SSC entry.
Nationality
The Candidates must fulfil conditions of nationality as laid down by the Government of India.
Sex and Marital Status
Only unmarried male and female candidates can apply.

The Candidates who are in the final year of Engineering Course in any of the above mentioned disciplines can also apply for branches/entries mentioned above. However, the candidates will be required to pass the final year examination with minimum 60% before joining INA, failing to meet this he/she will not be permitted to join INA Ezhimala.
The candidate can fill in only one application. However, if he/she is eligible for more than one branch/cadre should mention his/her preferences in the application form.
Physical Standards
The Candidates must be physically fit to join the Indian Naval Academy. Here we list down some physical standards which you need to meet.
For Male Candidates
- The minimum height should be 157 cm. However, relaxation in height is permissible to Gorkhas and candidates belonging to Hills of the North Eastern region of India, Garhwal, Kumaon, etc.
- The minimum and maximum weight should be according to height and age.
- Body Mass Index should not be more than 25.
- Waist: Hip Ratio less than 0.9
- The minimum height for the flying branch will be 162.5 cm. The measurements of leg length, thigh length, and sitting height should be as follows
