Kargil Vijay Diwas is observed every year on July 26. The day is observed to honour the bravery and sacrifices of the armed forces in the Kargil war. This year the event marks the 25th anniversary of India’s victory in the Kargil war in 1999 following the success of Operation Safed Sagar of the Indian Air Force and Operation Vijay of the Indian Army.
The day marks the victory of Indian soldiers in capturing the mountain heights that were occupied by the Pakistani Army. On the occasion of this day, we have brought to you poems in both English and Hindi that will help you to convey the resilience of armed forces in the face of extreme adversity.

| 2.Kargil soldiers 21 years have gone by, Like 21 minutes of our lives, Do we remember this day? The day our threatened freedom was restored. We lost a lot, Matyrs with families at home, Who never asked a thing, Just a piece of "The Flag" to cover, When they come back to finally rest. Our doors were threatened, By neighbours so very friendly! By deceipt, By cunning. They went down, With shells in their skulls, And the slogans, "Yeh Dil Maange More." They fought for us, Who don't spare them a thought, Who sit at home, And Comment, On the need for a war, When our doors were attacked, By neighbours so very friendly! Just spare a thought, For those who laid their lives, For us to lead ours. Just spare a thought, Do we really need "reel life" heroes, To comment on this day, When we have "real life" heroes, Who laid their lives for this day. Let our friendly neighbours, And the Dragons with their fires,r Keep standing at our gates, Seeking a chance to enter them, We still stand tall, To beat them all, And claim what is ours. And celebrate this day, For "YEARS TO COME". |

| 4.Kargil war On that dark night, When the whole country calmly slept, In the silence of those cold winters, Those brave men slowly crept, Loaded with ammunition, With only one ambition, of taking back, once to the country which belonged, Leaving behind their kith's and kins, To proclaim victory was all what they longed. Taking their positions, with the country's thought, The posts were so silent, So nervous were the soldiers, But as the silence broke in haste, Their nervousness disappeared. Their teamwork, Their compassion, Bravery & determination, Paved their path towards victory. Three months the battle lasted, The year was nineteen ninety nine, The Indian soldiers were so devoted, The battle one day had to resign. They laid their lives for the nation's glory, Their families cried and the whole country was sorry. They proclaimed Tiger hill, The pride of kargil, so, in their honour kargil day is celebrated. |

| 1.कारगिल विजय दिवस जब बुलंद हौसलों ने किया था दुश्मनों का विनाश, जब प्रकृति ने नमन किया था वीर जवानों को। जब निशा भी हारी थी उनकी हिम्मत के सामने, जब दुश्मन भी भाग खड़े हुए उनका रौद्र रूप देखकर। खुद कुर्बान होकर जो दे गए हमें जीवन, गर्व है हमें अपने वीर जवानों की शहादत पर। स्वीकारो हमारा सलाम ए अमर जवान मुबारक हो सबको "कारगिल विजय दिवस" के उम्दा 20 साल ! |
| 2.कारगिल दिवस आँखों मेे चमक और सीने मेे ज़ुनून रखते है। आप हो तो हम हैं अपने अपने घरों मेे चैन से आप तपते रहते है धूप मेे हमको देने के लिए छांव आप के लिए जितना भी बोला जाए कम हैं जिसने अपनी जान को अपनी माँ की चरणों मेे दे दिया। अपने वतन के लिए कुछ किया ही नहीं तो जिया क्या । जिसके लिए कुर्बान हैं सब कुछ वो वतन हैं मेरा। मिलते नहीं जो हक वो लिए जाते हैं, हैं आज़ाद हम पर गुलाम किये जाते हैं उन सिपाहियों को रात-दिन नमन करो, मौत के साए में जो जिए जाते हैं। जिसके के लिए नोटों के कफ़न की कोई वजूद नहीं जिसके लिए तिरंगे से खूबसूरत कोई कफ़न नहीं होता। |
| 3.कारगिल रणबांकुरों ने शत्रुओं को कारगिल से दूर हटाया। वहां की भूमि पर अपना तिरंगा गर्व से लहराया। भारतीयों को सुरक्षित होने का विश्वास दिलाया। शत्रुओं को हमारी शक्ति का आभास करवाया। देशभक्तों ने शहीदों के सम्मान में झुकाया माथा। यह देश सदैव स्मरण रखेगा उनकी विजयगाथा। |
| 4.कारगिल युद्ध शहादतों का एक ऐसा दौर चला था। हर एक शूरवीर भारत मां की रक्षा में खडा था। खाई थी उन्होंने गोलिया, धरा पर ख़ून बहा था। थी वो कारगिल की गर्मीयो की सर्द रातें, जब पारा माइनस 20°C से नीचे गिरा था। पाकिस्तानी कब्जा करके बैठे थे हमारी जमीन पर, हमारा हर सैनिक फौलाद की तरह लड़ा था। जहां रक्त जम कर बर्फ बन जाये, वहां वीरों का खोलता लहू दुश्मनों पर भारी पड़ा था। कैसे भूलेंगे कुर्बानी उन वीरों रणकुवारो की, चढ़ गये 90° की खड़ी चट्टानों पर, टूट पड़े जो बनकर महाकाल उन शैतानों पर। ना ही डरे वो गोलियों के प्रहारो से, और नाहि हिम्मत डगमगाई। भारतीय सेना के पराक्रम का वृतांत जानते हैं सभी , सुनेगा युग सदियों तक इन योद्धाओं की कहानी। मृत्यु भी इन वीरों को शान से लेने आयी, देख इन शेरों की दहाड़ वो भी घबराई। देख शोर्य मां भारती के बेटों का, उसकी भी आंखें भर आयी। मौत ने भी कहा धन्य है मां भारती , जो ऐसे बेटों को तुमने पाया। अब मैं इन बेटों को अपने साथ ले जाती हूं, इन वीरों का वर्णन में सबको सुनाती हूं। लडे है वो ठंडी रातों मे, शत्रुओं की रुह भी थर्रा गयी। देख तांडव वीरता का कालगाति भी गड़बड़ा गयी। वीरगति को प्राप्त हुये मां भारती के लाडले, मरते-मरते भी एक एक दस पर भारी पड़ा था। था ये कारगिल युद्ध जो भारतीय सेना ने, हिमालय की ऊंची चोटियों पर लड़ा था। |
