PM YUVA 3.0: In alignment with India’s National Education Policy 2020, which focuses on empowering young minds, the PM-YUVA 3.0 scheme aims to cultivate young authors who will shape India’s literary future. Launched on March 11, 2025, this scheme is a significant extension of the successful editions of PM-YUVA 1.0 and 2.0, which saw widespread participation from budding authors in multiple languages, including English and 22 Indian languages.

This initiative is envisioned to project India’s rich literary heritage globally, promoting Indian culture, knowledge systems, and perspectives. The scheme will train young authors, fostering a vibrant book culture and enhancing India’s position as a leading force in global literature.

What are the Themes of PM-YUVA 3.0? 

PM-YUVA 3.0 has three primary themes that authors are invited to explore:

  1. Contribution of Indian Diaspora in Nation Building

The Indian diaspora, which consists of over 35 million people across 200 countries, plays an essential role in the global community. From the early migrations in the first century AD to the modern-day Indian expatriates, their contributions span political, economic, and cultural spheres.

  1. Indian Knowledge System:

From the architects of India's democracy to the scientists and artists shaping India's global presence today, this theme will cover the nation’s builders from 1950 to the present.

How to Apply Online for PM YUVA 3.0?

To participate in PM-YUVA 3.0, applicants must follow these steps:

Application Process:

  • One entry per applicant is allowed.
  • Submissions should be non-fiction and must adhere to the theme guidelines.
  • Manuscripts will be accepted through MyGov until 11:59 PM on April 10, 2025.
  • No topic changes are permitted after submission.

What is the Selection Procedure for PM YUVA 3.0?

  • A total of 50 young authors will be selected:
    • 10 authors for the Indian Diaspora theme
    • 20 authors for the Indian Knowledge System theme
    • 20 authors for the Makers of Modern India theme
  • Selection will be conducted by a committee formed by the National Book Trust (NBT).

What is the Submission Procedure for PM YUVA 3.0?

  • Applicants will submit a 10,000-word Book Proposal including:
    • Synopsis: 2,000-3,000 words
    • Chapter Plan: A detailed outline of the book
    • Sample Chapters: 7,000-8,000 words (2-3 chapters)
    • Bibliography and References: As required

PM YUVA 3.0: Mentorship Program for 6 months

The mentorship program is structured to provide young authors with:

  • Masterclasses: Online programs led by accomplished authors and mentors.
  • Writing Skills Development: Training in literary techniques and editorial processes.
  • Global Exposure: Opportunities to participate in literary festivals, book fairs, and cultural exchange programs.
  • Publishing Ecosystem: Insights into the publishing industry, including literary agents, publishers, and the book distribution process.

Disbursement of Scholarships

  • A monthly scholarship of Rs. 50,000 for six months (total: Rs. 3 lakh) will be provided to selected authors.
  • Royalties: Authors will receive 10% royalty on successful book publications.
  • Books may be translated into regional Indian languages to promote cultural exchange and foster Ek Bharat Shreshth Bharat.

The PM-YUVA 3.0 initiative aims to create a new generation of authors who are not only equipped to express their views but also ready to represent Indian culture and literature globally.
