Rajasthan Public Service Commission invites application from eligible candidates for Rajasthan State Eligibility Test (RSET) 2012 for recruitment as Assistant Professors/ Lecturers in various Universities/ Degree Colleges/ Institutions of Higher Education in Rajasthan. The test will be conducted for 28 subjects approved by University Grants Commission falling under Humanities, Social Sciences and Sciences at 7 Centres in the State.

Eligibility Criteria for Rajasthan State Eligibility Test 2012
Educational Qualification
- Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ ST/ PH/ VH) (without rounding off) in Master's Degree OR equivalent examination from universities/ institutions recognised are eligible for this Test
- Final year candidates can also apply
- The PhD degree holders whose Master's level examination had been completed shall be eligible for a relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks (ie, from 55% to 50%) for appearing in Rajasthan SET
- Candidates are advised to appear in the subject of their post-graduation only. In case the subject of a candidate is not included in the list of SET subjects, the candidate may appear in UGC-NET / UGC-CSIR NET which is held twice a year
Selection procedure for Rajasthan State Eligibility Test 2012: The Test will consist of three papers. All the three papers will be held in two separate sessions as under:

Paper- I shall be of general nature, intended to assess the teaching/research aptitude of the candidate. It will primarily be designed to test reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate.
Paper- II & III shall consist of Objective type questions based on the subject selected by the candidate.
The candidates are required to obtain minimum marks separately in Paper-I, Paper-II and Paper-III as given below:

There will be no negative marking. Only such candidates who obtain the minimum required marks in each Paper, separately, as mentioned above, will be considered for final preparation of result.
Note: The syllabus of Paper-I, Paper-II and Paper-III will be the same as UGC-CSIR and UGC-NET.
Test Centres for Rajasthan State Eligibility Test 2012: The Test will be held at 5 centres namely Ajmer, Bharatpur, Bikaner, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kota & Udaipur.
How to Apply for Rajasthan State Eligibility Test 2012: The applicant should fill up the online application form according to his/her relevant category for which he/she is eligible.
Application Fee: The application fees to be paid by SC/ST of Rajasthan state and All the PH/ VH Candidates is Rs 250, for BC/SBC (Non-Creamy layer) of Rajasthan state Candidates is Rs 350 and for General candidate & BC/SBC (Creamy layer) of Rajasthan State is Rs 650.
The fee should be paid through E-Mitra Kiyosk, C.S.C. Center authorized by the Raj. Govt. Payment of fee in any other mode will not be accepted
