The congress ruled states would enact the new Lokayukta legislation by 28 February 2013. The decision in this regard was taken in New Delhi during a meeting of the Chief Ministers of party ruled states on 27 December 2013. The meeting was chaired by the Vice President of Congress, Rahul Gandhi.
Ajay Maken, the General Secretary of Congress also said the states ruled by Congress will start de-list fruits and vegetables from their Agricultural Produce Marketing Committee Act by 15 January 2014.
