Air India will set up South Asia's largest Flying Training Organisation (FTO) at Amravati in Vidarbha region of Maharashtra. This FTO will strengthen the pilot training capability available in India. The runway of Amravati airport was recently expanded by the state-owned Maharashtra Airport Development Company.

The Indian Army contingent is participating in the 13th edition of the India-Thailand Joint Military Exercise Maitree being held from July 1 to 15 at Fort Wachiraprakan in Tak Province, Thailand. The last edition of this exercise was held in September 2019 at Umroi, Meghalaya.

Hungary has taken over the rotating presidency of the Council of the European Union (EU) for six months. Hungary's European Union Affairs Minister Janos Boka has given this information. The presidency rotates among EU members every six months, meaning Hungary will hold it until December 2024.

The Under-23 Asian Wrestling Championship 2024 was held in Amman, Jordan where India topped the competition by winning a total of eight medals. Young Indian wrestlers won four gold, two silver and two bronze medals in freestyle wrestling. Abhimanyu in the 70 kg category, Jointy Kumar in the 92 kg category, Sahil Jaglan in the 97 kg category and Anirudh Kumar in the 125 kg category won the gold medal.

The ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 will be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka. The 55-match tournament will be played in the same format as the T20 World Cup 2024. 12 teams including India and Sri Lanka have been confirmed, the names of 8 teams are yet to be confirmed.

IPL franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore has appointed former India wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik as batting coach and mentor. Dinesh Karthik has played 257 matches in the IPL, representing five franchises Kolkata Knight Riders, Mumbai Indians, Delhi Daredevils, Kings XI Punjab and RCB. Playing for India, Karthik scored 1,752 runs in 94 ODIs and hit nine half-centuries.
