DGCA for the first time issued Standards of Services Document

DGCA for the first time issued the Standards of Services Document enlisting services and transactions offered by it to the public, operators and others.

Director General Civil Aviation (DGCA) on 22 May 2014 for the first time issued the Standards of Services Document. The document enlists services and transactions offered by it to the public, operators and others.

DGCA released documents mentions concise detail of the work involved in processing an application and request including the related rules and regulations. The document provides details of fees charged for the service and also gives timelines for the completion of an activity resulting in the issue of an approval, license, permit or a certificate by DGCA.

The document has broadly divided the services and transactions for benefit of the general public. The division includes
• Aircraft
• Aircraft Operator
• Foreign Airline Operating Authorisation
• Aerodromes
• Air Space and Air Traffic Management
• Approval of Schedules
• Individuals
• Other services
• Organisations

Directorate General of Civil Aviation is the regulatory body governing the safety aspects of civil aviation in India. Its current Director General is Prabhat Kumar who is an IAS officer of 1985 Uttar Pradesh cadre.
