Indian shooter Gagan Narang on 15 April 2015 won the Bronze medal in the 50m Rifle Prone Men event of International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) Rifle/Pistol World Cup held in Fort Benning, USA.
The Gold medal of the event was won by McPhail Michael of USA and Silver medal was won by Bryhn Ole Kristian of Norway.
With the present win, Narang, the bronze medalist in 10m Rifle event at the London Olympics 2012, became the third Indian shooter to earn a quota place for the 2016 Rio Olympics after Jitu Rai and Apruvi Chandela.
Chandela had secured the quota place by winning the bronze in the 10m Rifle at the World Cup held in South Korea in April 2015.
Jitu Rai had secured India's first Olympic quota place by winning silver in the 50m Free Pistol event at the World Championships held in Granada, Spain in September 2014.
Each country can win a maximum of 30 quota places in Olympic Games from a total of 15 shooting disciplines that is two each from each discipline.
