Union Urban Development Ministry on 22 May 2013 sanctioned 100 crore rupees under Urban Infrastructure Development Scheme for Small and Medium Towns-UIDSSMT for development of small and medium towns of Madhya Pradesh. This scheme aims at improvement in urban infrastructure in towns and cities in a planned manner.
The ministry also sanctioned 195 rupees crore rupees for the state under Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNRUM).
