K Rosaiah Resigned as Andhra Chief Minister

Andhra Pradesh CM, K Rosaiah resigned.

Konijeti Rosaiah on 24 November 2010 resigned from his post of Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. He cited health grounds as reason for his resignation. Rosaiah faced strong protest from within the party as he was constantly resisted in all his acts by Congress MP Jagan Mohan Reddy and his supporters.


Rosaiah was the P.C.C president from 1995 to 1997 and in 1998 he was elected as Lok Sabha member from Narasaraopet. He is a member of the Legislative Council from Guntur. Rosaiah holds the record of introducing the state budget 16 times, including seven in a row. He served as a finance minister under Marri Chenna Reddy, Kotla Vijaya Bhaskara Reddy and Y. S. Rajashekhara Reddy. He became the Chief Minister in September 2009 following the unfortunate death of Y S Rajasekhar Reddy. K.Rosaiah was the first leader of Arya Vysya community to become CM of any soutrhern Indian state.
