Sachin Tendulkar’s double century in one day international against South Africa was given a place in the Times magazine’s Top Ten Sports Moments of the year 2010. Tendulkar had scored the double century at Captain Roop Singh stadium in Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh) in February, 2010. This was the first double century scored ever in the history of one day international cricket. The previous record was jointly held by Charles Coventry of Zimbabwe (194 not out against Bangladesh in 2009) and Saeed Anwar of Pakistan (194 against India in 1997).

• Rochette Brightens the Games for Canada- the incident relates to the winning of bronze by Joannie Rochette, a Canadian figure skater after the Vancouver Olympics 2010 started on a grim note following the death of Nodar Kumaritashvili, a luger from Georgia.
