Tendulkar’s Double Century in ODI Found Place in Time Magazine

Sachin Tendulkar’s double century in one day international against South Africa was given a place in the Times magazine’s Top Ten Sports Moments of the year 2010. Tendulkar had scored the double century at Captain Roop Singh stadium in Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh) in February, 2010. This was the first double century scored ever in the history of one day international cricket. The previous record was jointly held by Charles Coventry of Zimbabwe (194 not out against Bangladesh in 2009) and Saeed Anwar of Pakistan (194 against India in 1997).

•    Saints Come Marching On- the incident relates to the February football game between New Orleans Saints and the Indianapolis Colts.
•    The Three-Day Duel at Wimbledon- the incident relates to the longest match in the history of tennis played in11 hours, and five minutes, played over the course of three days.
•    Rochette Brightens the Games for Canada- the incident relates to the winning of bronze by Joannie Rochette, a Canadian figure skater after the Vancouver Olympics 2010 started on a grim note following the death of Nodar Kumaritashvili, a luger from Georgia.
