Cabinet approves continuation of GSLV Programme-Phase 4

The Union Cabinet, chaired by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on April 16, 2019 approved the ongoing Phase 4 of the Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV) programme.

Under the GSLV Continuation Programme, five GSLV flights have been planned during the period 2021-2024. The GSLV Programme - Phase 4 will enable the launch of 2 tonne class of satellites for Geo-imaging, Navigation, Data Relay Communication and Space Sciences into the Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit (GTO).

The VVPAT helps to detect potential election fraud or malfunction in the Electronic Voting Machine. It provides a means to audit the stored electronic results. It serves as an additional barrier to change or destroy votes.

Indian world cup squad announced


Indian selectors on April 15, 2019 announced the Indian team for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, which is scheduled to begin in England and Wales from May 30, 2019. The announcement was made by the BCCI Acting Honorary Secretary Amitabh Choudhary in Mumbai, in the presence of the Chairman of Selectors, MSK Prasad.

EC bars Maneka Gandhi, Azam Khan


The Election Commission on April 15, 2019 banned Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, BSP leader Mayawati, SP leader Azam Khan and Union minister Maneka Gandhi from campaigning for a set time period due to their hateful comments.

The ban, which will be applicable across the nation, came into force on April 16, 2019. While Adityanath and Azam Khan have been barred for 72 hours, Mayawati and Gandhi face a 48-hour ban.

Cabinet approves creation of one post of Deputy Comptroller and Auditor General in CAG

The Union Cabinet, chaired by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, approved the creation of one post of Deputy Comptroller & Auditor General (Coordination, Communication and Information System) in Pay Level-17 in the Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG).

The Deputy Comptroller & Auditor General will oversee the coordination among State Audits and audit of telecommunication. He or she will coordinate the various Information Systems (IS) initiatives within the Indian Audit & Accounts Department (IA&AD).
