The Indian National Congress (INC) is contesting the Assam Assembly Elections 2026 as part of a broader alliance with several regional and national parties. The alliance includes parties such as Assam Jatiya Parishad (AJP), Communist Party of India (Marxist) – CPI(M), Communist Party of India (CPI), Communist Party of India (Marxist–Leninist) Liberation – CPI(ML), and Raijor Dal. Under the seat-sharing arrangement, the Congress party is contesting a majority of constituencies, while selected seats have been allocated to alliance partners.
How Many Seats Are There in Assam Assembly?
The Assam Legislative Assembly consists of 126 constituencies, each represented by one elected member. These constituencies include cities, towns, rural areas, and tribal regions, ensuring representation from all parts of the state.
