Every five years, the Lok Sabha elections, often cited as the biggest democratic event in the country and perhaps the world, take place in India. On April 16, 2024, the Election Commission of India announced the confirmed date of the Lok Sabha elections. The polls for the general elections will be held in 7 different phases, starting on April 19, 2024. The schedule for the Lok Sabha polls is given below:

- Phase 3: May 7, 2024
- Phase 4: May 13, 2024
- Phase 5: May 20, 2024
- Phase 6: May 25, 2024
- Phase 7: June 1, 2024

When is the Lok Sabha Election 2024?
The date given by the Election Commission of India for the general elections is April 19, 2024. The Lok Sabha elections in 2024 will be held in 7 phases across the country. 96.8 crore people will be casting their votes in the upcoming polls this year.
A new central government and the members of the Lower House of Parliament will be elected between April and May.
The 17th Lok Sabha's term is expected to expire on June 16, 2024. The previous general elections took place in 2019 between April and May.
