The Tamil Nadu Directorate of Technical Education has postponed the Class 11 Public Examinations which were scheduled to be conducted from March 26, 2020. However, the class 12 board examinations will be conducted as per schedule from today onwards. The decision to postpone the Tamil Nadu Class 11 Public Examinations 2020 was taken after the Tamil Nadu state government imposed Section 144 in all the districts in the state amidst the coronavirus outbreak in the state.
Apart from the TN Class 12 examinations all the other examinations and governmental elections to colleges and schools have been postponed by the state. According to reports, the schools, colleges and other educational institutions will be closed until March 31, 2020.
The Tamil Nadu State Board has also postponed the Class 10 Board examinations. The exams which were scheduled to begin from March 27, 2020, have been deferred until April 15, 2020.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Palanisamy has also imposed restrictions on the Anganwadi centres, schools and colleges and all the teachers and staff members in all the educational institutions are required to work from home until March 31, 2020.
Restrictions imposed across the Country
Many of the states in the country have gone under complete lockdown with roads and railways shut along with the schools and colleges. Most of the State Board class 10 and 12 examinations have also been postponed by the respective board. The CBSE and ICSEboards have also postponed their class 10 and 12 board examinations in the different states due to the COVID-19 pandemic which has spread across the different states. The rescheduled dates of the board examinations will be released on the official websites soon.
Tamil Nadu has registered 5 COVID-19 positive cases which makes the total number of positive cases in India 492.
