NEET PG Result 2026: Doctor Urges Students To Prepare For January INI-CET
NEET PG 2026 result is still awaited, with the answer key and candidate response sheet also pending. Amid the uncertainty, a doctor has urged aspirants to use the remaining time to prepare for the INI-CET examination, scheduled for November 1.
Amid a flood of social media posts by NEET PG 2026 aspirants regarding the release of the answer key and candidate response sheet, a doctor has urged students to start preparing for the next INI-CET examination. The INI-CET is scheduled to be conducted on November 1 for the January 2027 session. The application window for the examination will close on October 13 at 5 pm.
The INI-CET and NEET PG are postgraduate medical entrance examinations, with several similar courses available through their respective admission processes. A key difference is that NEET PG is conducted for admission to postgraduate medical courses across government, private and deemed universities across India, as well as DNB programmes. INI-CET, meanwhile, is conducted for admission to Institutes of National Importance (INIs), including AIIMS campuses, JIPMER Puducherry, PGIMER Chandigarh, NIMHANS Bengaluru and SCTIMST Thiruvananthapuram.
Doctor Urges Students To Prepare For January INI-CET
Dr Praveen Tripathi, Psychiatrist and Sexual Disorders Specialist and Faculty of Psychiatry at Cerebellum & Conceptual Psychiatry, on September 23 said the NEET PG result has not been released yet. He also spoke about the uncertainty students are facing while waiting for their results and counselling.
“NBE has not released the NEET PG result yet and all the promises you made to yourself, that you would go places and do this and that after the exam? Of course, you did none of them. Now you are also feeling that emptiness, and you are getting bored,” Tripathi said.
The doctor further said that NEET PG counselling could face delays after the results are announced, potentially extending the admission process. He urged aspirants to use the remaining time to prepare for INI-CET and attempt admission to central institutions.
“Even when the NEET PG result is announced, counselling will get messed up and delayed, like every year. So rather than continuing like this, start studying. You still have a solid 40 days left for INICET. Give it a serious go. A central institute deserves your serious attempt,” Tripathi added.NBE has not released the NEET PG result yet.
‘Don’t Let Uncertain Outcomes Bother You Much,’ Says Doctor
In another post on X, Tripathi said students may find it difficult to focus on INI-CET preparation while being uncertain about their NEET PG rank. However, he advised aspirants not to allow uncertainty about the outcome to affect their preparation.
“The NEET PG result is not declared yet, and the next exam (INICET) is around 40 days away. Of course, students will find it difficult to study with this uncertainty (whether they will get a good rank in NEET PG or not). And that’s why those who don’t let uncertain outcomes bother them too much, and can still put in the effort, will have a significant edge in the next exam,” Tripathi said.
He described preparing for INI-CET despite uncertainty as a useful habit and advised students to treat the period since the NEET PG examination as a break rather than worrying about the time already lost.
“It’s also a great habit to build: being able to put in effort despite not having full clarity. If you can push yourself, do it, and study for INICET. Don’t think about the days that have gone by. Think of them as a break. You still have a good 40 days with you. Go for it,” Tripathi added.
The NEET PG 2026 results are scheduled to be released by September 30, 2026. The answer key and candidate response sheets are also awaited and are expected to be released shortly.
