Punjab School Holidays: Schools in Punjab are closed between December 14 and 31, 2023 due to cold and biting winters. According to Minister of Education Harjot Singh Bains, classes will resume on January 1, 2024. However, considering the extremely harsh winters, there are high chance that authorities may reconsider their decision to reopen schools. Winter vacations usually extend every year since cold waves and extreme drops in temperatures make it hard for the heads to announce school reopening. It should be noted that there are approximately 19 thousand public/government schools in Punjab. Other than this, there are about 6 thousand privately owned schools. Over 40 lakh students study in these schools.
Parents, students, and teachers are concerned because the Indian Meteorological Department has issued a warning stating that visibility will be less than 50 meters. They are demanding further extension of holidays before classes reopen since it's too cold for them to continue.
Noida, Greater Noida Schools Closed on Due to 29, 30
Apart from Punjab School Holidays, Schools in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, will be closed from Nursery to Class 12 for two days. Since the area is experiencing extremely low temperatures, the holidays have been declared. Gautam Buddha Nagar Administration has instructed the closure of schools.
All schools in Noida and Greater Noida will be closed on the 29th and 30th of December, 2023. In accordance with the Basic Education Officer's directive, staff members and teachers must, nevertheless, report to work on certain days.
